Has Comicvine made you hate or like a character more.

What I mean is has being on Comicvine and seeing certain fanboys, and/or the battle forum changed you to hate or like a certain character that maybe you didn't really know much about, or maybe even liked before you saw the battle forum?

Name any character(s) that come to mind that the fanboys, and battle forum either ruined in your eyes or made you like more.

Do you feel like Comicvine can ruin a character with the battle forum?

I sorta hate hulk

All i hear oh hulk would just get stronger and stronger until hes strong enough to beat {insert name here}

Well I don't hate any character, like them all but fans of various heroes made me more interested in character and made me like those characters more.

Some characters that like because of Comicvine:

Captain America

Flash (Barry)

GL(Hal)

Black Panther

the list goes on

Speaking purely in terms of Comicvine.

Characters ruined: Superboy Prime, Batman, Kratos, Thor, Mxy, all the MK Universe

Characters I appreciate more: Ultron, Thanos, Captain Marvel (Shazam), Gladiator, Superman, Snake Eyes, Panther

It's unfair to judge a character by its fanbase, and it's also kinda unfair to judge a fanbase by a couple of bad apples (though I do it sometimes, I'ma try to stop)

The only one that really comes to mind is Hulk. I never particularly liked him before, but he seems to get the funniest claims. They are only exasperating because the fanboys don't realize just how funny they are.

Its sort of made me indifferent to Batman.

You have to admit, it can be difficult with fanboys running rampant on here.

yes and no. ultimately I think people just don't consider their arguments before they post them and it makes the character obnoxious by the crowd who represents them. it also can go the other way with that. I have given some characters detailed looks just by the way i've seen people intelligently argue their case.

batman would be the biggest case (for me) of hate for a character based off fans. I don't know how many things he can do off the charts before you just have to acknowledge he has to be above peak human...

Batman

I don't go to the battle forums so what happens there doesn't affect me. People like yourself though who worship Batman really turned me off for a lot of years but I'm glad I was able to get past that. I was able to get to the point where I can ignore absurd posts and just remember why I liked the character in the first place.

Nope I don't go to battles, I don't have the need to show people how right I am :P

Fans my bug me sure, but I'm good at keeping my original voice. However, in a goodway, cv has turned me on to newer things, manly cause it's my source of pop culture

in all fairness, hulk can only really be conjecture. people commonly argue WWH as one of the strongest iterations of Hulk, but neglect the fact that Hulk wasn't actually trying to kill anyone. He was very much in control of his anger which makes me believe there is much more room for him to become much angrier. So, if you think about an actual bloodlusted Hulk, he might actually be pretty terrifying and able to beat (insert name here). with all that out of the way, I agree with the arguments being obnoxious and just outright dumb sometimes.

If anyone lets a website's fan base influence wether they like or hate a character they should just forfeit being a fan altogether.

I don't see how you can allow anybody to ruin a character for you, especially on an internet forum. I mean, I hate that some people can't objectively and logically debate for DBZ, but that doesn't mean i'm going to let them effect my appreciation for the show.

I've become somewhat a fan of Mr Majestic, Silver Surfer, and Orion due to Comic Vine. I've grown to hate Thor though.

Almost forgot about him. Never saw him as more than a Superman clone though. *Prepares for war.

It has ruined the Flash for me but showed me how cool Animal Man can be.

Sentry and anyone from the Naruto franchise.

I liked Sentry, and Naruto was okay, but after what I saw in the battle forums, their "fanboys" ruined the character(s) for me.

Hmm I'm seeing Sentry and Hulk a good amount of times.

Hulk In a way I can understand, but why Sentry? I don't even see him enough in the forum for him to even be hated. That and there is like only one real big Sentry debater on here, I don't really see anyone else that debates for Sentry like that.

It's gotten me to like TMNT, Green Arrow, and to a lesser extent, Batman. But none of those have anything to do with the battle forums.

There's a big difference between a character and how a character is portrayed on Comicvine. Especially in the Battles Forum.

Speaking strictly in terms of my experience on CV, I definitely have come to strongly dislike Sentry and Wally West mainly. This is mostly because in the Battles Forum, people just use the same old feats over and over again to "prove" their points. There are definitely characters that I've learned much more about and come to strongly enjoy though too. Thanos, Gambit, Psylocke, Franklin Richards, etc.

Also, before joining CV, I never saw the true light of the omnipotent Bat-God. So there's that. ;)

I try not to let people on the internet who are either trolls or are mad that their favorite character loses a fight affect my opinion of the character.

Comicvine hasn't made me love or hate a character, writers have!

But if Comicvine was going to ruin a character for me, it would be Batman, Hulk, Thor and Superman, roughly in that order.

It did for a while but the I realized how freaking stupid that is.

CV is making me sick of Assassins from Assassin's Creed for a bit but I'll get over that. This site helped make me into a Deathstroke fan. Probably a few others, too

This website has made me love Iron Man (even more than I did before), Sentry, Thor, Jason Voorhees, Doctor Doom, Deathstroke, Doctor Strange, Wolverine, Iron Fist, Galactus, Gladiator, Beta Ray Bill, Thanos, Moon Knight, and many more.

This website has made me dislike Hulk, Iceman, Cyclops, Storm, Superman, Ghost Rider, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, Batman, Spider-Man, Cyborg, Master Chief, Alex Mercer, Kratos, She-Hulk, Colossus, Joker, Lex Luthor, Namor, most Star Wars characters, Wonder Woman, Cheetah, and unfortunately, some Naruto characters (pretty much after the ten-tails mode was introduced).
