Has anyone ever thought of rewriting Thor's origin story?

The character of Thor first appeared in Journey Into Mystery #83 back in 1962. To anyone who's ever read it, like me, who has ever had the idea of rewriting this story for more modern times? Like, improve on the dialogue, character development, give a more detailed insight into Donald Blake, etc. Who thinks this is a good idea?

First of all: The Donald Blake/Thor thing is just plain old dumb. I get that they are trying to do a alter ego type of thing but having two separate beings inhabit one body in this way just doesn't sit right with me. So Thor is doing what while Donald Blake is active and vice versa? How is it that Thor can now come to Earth without the human host?

Basically the MCU version is sufficient.

No unless it's a what if story Donald Blake and Thor don't interact with each other like they did 40 years ago. His dialogue is just fine. Thor has developed plenty over the years

Could be interesting, but I don't think it should be canon. The Donald Blake thing is pretty weird.
