...Which mythology and universe of characters do you prefer and why?
Greek or Norse?
Greek, without a question. Personally I find the stories a lot more compelling, the names a lot easier to remember and pronounce, and knowing Greek mythology tends to be a lot more useful in everyday life than knowing Norse.
I'm Scandinavian, so Norse. Plus the afterlife is potentially a lot better than anything you could hope for in Greece. Oh and the Norse Pantheon isn't populated by inbreeding a-holes :)
All around mythology I'd have to say Norse. I enjoy the various deities more and I appreciate their views of the afterlife and battle.
However I love the greek monsters far more. I do love Fenrir and the Nidhogg, but it's not as diverse as the hydra, nemean lion, manticore, centaurs, and all the others. Probably because Greece was on the Mediterranean and ended up incorporating aspects of other mythologies into their monster line up.
