Gods and Monster Kirk in the main DC

I personally really enjoyed Gods and Monsters and flat out love their Kirk Langstrom. I was thinking how cool it would be if he was or a version like him was in the main DC universe, I don't know maybe he tried to cure himself and he got half of it right.

I mean I know its opinion, but why does everyone like Kirk? I found them completely boring, and just unimpressive all around.
