"God is Dead" Thoughts?

I've been considering delving into this series but there seem to be many polarized opinions on it. I don't mind buying a couple of issues to form my own opinion but how is it in the long run? Worth the time? (Sorry if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find an older topic)

I made it to issue 17 but gave up after that. It's ok but nothing astounding. If you are a fan of myth/religion in comics, there are better series to check out.

Here I was thinking my philosophy major would come in handy and we were gunna discuss Nietzsche...
