Stannis with Robert:
- Survives the siege of Storms End (with help from Ned and Davos)
- Takes Dragonstone and defeats the fleeing Targ remnants
- Defeats the Greyjoy fleet (by far his best feat)
Stannis without Robert:
- Destroys the Baratheon line
- created a massive army to back the Lannisters
- got annihilated on the Blackwater
- defeated Wildlings
- won a minor skirmish against the fleeing Iron born
- (if the books hold true to the show) gets crushed by the Bolton's
He has been a disaster since his brother died
It's not like Robert helped him win his battles so Robert being alive or dead is totally irrelevant
@buttersdaman000: The simple case was to me he didn't have anything interesting about him to be honest. He just seemed a very bland character in comparison to the others.
His blandness is kind of why I like his character. He isn't a first son or a charismatic lord, he's just a highly skilled commander who feels the world owes him and isn't willing to kneel behind anyone's shadow anymore. I don't mind that D & D made him more villainous, I just hate that all of the Ramsay PIS made him look so damn incompetent.
D&D totally left out the most important parts of his character imo. For example, he doesn't feel like the world owes him anything, he feel like he owes the world. And he's not even a villain. He's not even portrayed like that in the books. Yet, an obvious villain like Tywin is portrayed in such a flattering light on the show lol
