Friend Request - Gen. Discussion

So I'm a nice enough guy I would say, but here is my thing. If I have never spoken to you/or even seen your name, why would I except a friend request. This makes it harder for me to read the blogs I actually read (Ms. Invisibles) or to PM people and it just kinda junks up my over screen. So if you'd like to be my friend. Come on by and say hi. Introduce your self....make small talk.

Hehe, I've actually only sent Friend Requests to 2 people so far. I figure it's best to actually make friends with people before I, ya know, ask them to be my friend.

Seriously it gets annoying. I wish there was a way to block friend quests from poeple who aren't actually your friends.

I always assume people send them to me 'cause I'm a mod, I always wanted all the mods on my friends list so I had have easy access to their pages and whatnot

in fact I used to have over 400 friends, just because it made it easier to get to pages, but nowadays I can figure out the URL without the friend so I guess its a useless feature to me which is why I don't let it bother me that people want me on their friends list

because you don't have to know someone for them to be your enemy, it can be a one-way relationship where as friendship goes both ways

if i consider someone my enemy they would have to have done something to piss me off. when someone that i have never had any interaction with , be it positive or negative, sends me a request i ignore it. as far as i'm concerned they don't exist. if they can;t make the effort to say hello or f@ck you why should i bother?

Friends can be bothersome since it is a two-way relationship. I usually accept since these people obviously have an interest in what I do and want to track me. The problem is that I don't always care about them...

I have actual people I would consider friends on here, but a slew of people on my friends list I rarely talk to.

rofl I don't think friend requests are that big of a deal. If someone I haven't really talked to sends me a friend request, sure, why not accept it (but that doesn't mean I might remove you later =p). But if I hate you or think you're just generally lame then I'm not accepting your FR lol.

I've had a few requests off people I don't recognise, but nothing compared to this last week... I've never been so cyber-popular compared to this last few weeks!!

I don't like to add people unless I've had some sort of interaction with them. If I'm the one making the request I feel really embarrassed, like I'm interrupting someone's day. So then I have to send them a PM apologising & saying why I wanna add them.

But when random people I don't recognise add me, I think it's only because of the Top Users page. If they aren't on the forums, and they aren't active, then how am I meant to know they're people who could be friends??
