Frank Miller Reveals He'll be Working on Another Dark Knight Book

There's been lots of talk about DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE, which begins on November 25 with issue #1, and how this will be the final chapter of the DARK KNIGHT Trilogy. Today, writer/artist Frank Miller revealed in an interview with Newsarama that there will be a 4th installment of the series.

"I thoroughly applaud what [Brian Azzarello is] doing. But now that he's doing his, it's now a four-part series," Miller explained. "I'm doing the fourth."

Brian Azzarello is currently writing the DKIII book with Miller, with Andy Kubert and Klaus Janson on art. At New York Comic Con, Miller mentioned coming back to comics after DKIII and working on a new SIN CITY book, but didn't reveal much more than that during a press conference. There is no confirmation about this story or the timeline for its release.

Some of you guys are acting like you're being forced to read it. Don't like it, don't read it. Pretty simple.

Will there ever be an end? Im fine with just the first one...i dont even want to touch the second one...and im keeping an open mind for the third but to be honest im not expecting anything groundbreaking but we will see.

This is pretty great. I am glad he is going to fully write it,and would love to see how he ends this book,his way.

Am I the only one who wants him to actually finish All Star Batman and Robin? I mean, just call it TDKR prequel and finish off the mystery that Miller was setting up.

Honestly the third could at least theoretically be good with Azzarello writing. I'm just worried that the "Master Race" term isn't being used ironically.

It sounds like, to me, that it's less of a DKIV and more that Miller is going to write the second half of DKIII himself. He said that Azzarello's series is only going to be four issues now, instead of eight.

A Dark Knight book should be about Batman himself Frank,no one cares about Carrie or your depictions of Superman and Wonder Woman.

I wish this truly were a proper sequel to TDKR but everything I've heard has led me to believe that this is a general DC universe story. Also we've already seen far better Batman replacements than Carrie,such a twist might have worked in the 80's but after Dick,JPV and even Jim it's just uninspired and underwhelming.

I would have felt great after hearing about this if I hadn;t already known that it wouldn't be nearly as good as The Dark Knight Returns. So far the Master Race seems like a story about everyone in the DC Universe and not only for Batman himself which is a terrible idea for a continuation of the franchise.
