We know "Trinity War" will lead into "Forever Evil," and now DC has given its next big event its own slogan: When the unimaginable happens (unexpected for the second cover... seems like it'll be "When the un___ happens" for each). Seeing as the villains are taking over, it seems safe to assume that's the "unimaginable" thing they're talking about. But really, what's up with Batman (or at least it appears to be him) being in the first cover?

Viners, are you stoked for Villains Month and "Forever Evil?"

Oh the first female Green Lantern at last!

Good move DC

Wow, wait a minute. Is that the Female Green Lantern that was mentioned in Green Lantern 20 who will be trained by Simon Baz. Also I might have to buy forever evil and I was even planning on getting it. Though I could care less about Villians month.

If Batman never loses, and the villains win, then logic follows that Batman becomes a villain.

#6 Posted by Squalleon (4698 posts) - - Show Bio

@dud317: I think that is new 52 Owlman.

Also his suit is black not grey...mm?

There have been a couple of earth women green lanterns in the past but they either dies a few issues later or just didn't work out.

Still if it's an actual lasting character I am totally with you on the excitement. lol

It looks like bizarro and twoface became one.

Batman also cannot be corrupted...so I don't see him becoming a villain.

@vortex13: Which ones?

I only now about Jade but she is not a Gl

#15 Posted by Sifighter (94 posts) - - Show Bio

I looked it up on this sight, her name is supposed to be Jessica Cruz. What I'm seeing so far in forever evil is that we have Nightwing, The Teen Titans, and a new green lantern as our main characters, not a bad line-up but probably won't be saving the world if you ask me.

"The unimaginable has happened." Eh... its the same idea that was running around in the background of Final Crisis.

I am interested in only a few of the Villains Month issues, not terribly interested in Forever Evil.

Female GL!!?? Yay, Finally!! what Johns foretold is coming to pass.

#18 Posted by Strongarm (5857 posts) - - Show Bio

they should replace batman with the joker

Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz will now be the two Earth Lanterns. All the others are off planet so that makes sense.

I think this slogan is hinting at

I think that this is going to be a resistance team against the Secret Society. Based on solicits we know that Black Manta, Black Adam and Flashes Rouges do not want anything to do with the Secret Society. Dick Grayson is Batman and this is a resistance team while the JL, JLA, and JLD are "dead"

Which would explain why Batman is there.

Total speculation.

That looks absolutely NOTHING like Owlman. It's clearly Batman (or someone in his suit).

I wish villains month didn't seems so boring, that way Forever Evil would be better, still looks interesting though.

Why can't DC do something without Batman in it? Even if that isn't him, it is someone who is dressing up just like him which is close enough. Seriously it is stupid.

maybe it is Damian batman from the future

#25 Posted by blkson (785 posts) - - Show Bio

Man, Manta's neck looks weird.

I really hate that they didn't capitalize on the character design from the Young Justice show. I know that comics and TV/Movies exist in diff continuities, but that was a wasted opportunity to upgrade Manta.

#26 Posted by Squalleon (4698 posts) - - Show Bio

@falconer: Maybe he changed it to look like Batman or he is from parallel earth.

Maybe it's a talon from the court of owls dressed up as batman

Very obscure characters whose names I don't remember off the top of my head. Like I said they didn't last long. I know one was a Russian woman who was a astronaut... I think lol.

I like your thinking! Geoff already said that Luthor will oppose the secret society. So it would explain why any of these characters are there

yea this is going to be really interesting. When you look at this team Sinestro, Lex, and Catwoman are somewhat anti heroes. So it all makes sense.

#35 Posted by Lvenger (21066 posts) - - Show Bio

So this is the new female Green Lantern, Jessica Cruz, that Johns teased at the end of Green Lantern #20 then. An overdose of human lanterns needless to say but with Kyle a White Lantern, Guy a Red one and Hal and John in space, Simon and Jessica will be the new Earth GLs. I wonder if the teaser RB Silva released of Nightwing, Red Tornado and others may come into play as a resistance team? But this looks horribly like Final Crisis and I hated that event.

Well it did say that some members of the Justice League and Justice League of America survived in the October Solicitations, so who knows.

@battheman008: you're likely correct. However, with my a to b to c formula, corruption is what we would call a variable. :-)

EVIL EVIL female green lantern EEEEEVVVVVVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL DOOM IS UPON US!!!!! and manta looks so freaking stupid.

#40 Posted by Sifighter (94 posts) - - Show Bio

@entropy_aegis:

Well if you really want to know what its about here is the basic premise; in the aftermath of the trinity war all three separate Justice League teams(JL, JLA, and JLD) are supposedly dead with maybe a few survivors. With them gone the secret society of supervillians take over the world with an army of supervillians. This leaves heroes like Nightwing, the teen titans, and this new green lantern the only ones left who can stop them. There will be some villians who oppose the secret society and may fight back but beyond that there is nothing else known about the story. I hope that helped.

That team also had Hawkman on it. Supposedly all of the Leagues die and Hawkman is a JLA member. But maybe you're right. That RB Silva team had some interesting members on it.

I can't wait to read Forever Evil, the idea of all of the bad guys actually being able to take over the world is great...but for the love of all that is good and pure Black Manta's design is all wrong on the cover! It's driving me insane with how his neck looks! That's my only complaint, other than that I can't wait for this!
