I'm writing a piece for my school paper on the new Thor title by Jason Aaron, and i would like to talk to some female comic book fans about the female presence in the community.
Thanks for your time :)

@v_scarlotte_rose I would first like to know if you read the new Thor, and thank you for responding :)
@infinite_doom: I did read the first issue of the new series. I'm not a regular Thor reader.
Alright, I'm game.
No, You are squares.

That's the best dad joke I've heard in a while. Nicely done.
@ariesxmasters: There are quite a lot of female readers on this site I think.
@ariesxmasters: There are quite a lot of female readers on this site I think.
Except you'll never find them! AHAHAHAHAHAA
@v_scarlotte_rose: Really? You might be right but it is kind of hard for me to tell some people's gender on here. Sometimes guys will have a picture of a lady as their avatar. Sometimes the name are hard to differentiate a little too. You're probably the first person that I'm 100% sure if a female on here I'm not even kidding. Well probably the second actually.
@ariesxmasters: I think a moderator or member of staff mentioned in a thread about the gender ratio a percentage based on which gender people had clicked. I'll try and find it.
I agree that it can be hard to tell sometimes. I don't mind though. :)
What gave me away? Was it that I answered this thread or something else?
@jasonhawke: Huh?
@v_scarlotte_rose: You answered the thread. That and Scarlotte Rose is defiantly a female oriented name. Plus you're not being just plain rude and nasty like most guys on here. I usually think of female as nicer than the males.
@ariesxmasters: I guess that makes sense. :)
I can't really comment on the niceness of genders. Kind of hard to tell who's who as you said. :)
@ariesxmasters: I can't find the post I was looking for about gender ratios. However my own research using google with the search "gender: other" site:comicvine.com/profile and other searches with male and female as the options has shown me that about 121,000 members are male (82.2%), 24,600 are female(16.7%), and 1,660(1.1%) are other. So roughly 5:1 male:female.
However that's total people who are signed up, not active members who are online regularly.
@v_scarlotte_rose: Wow, they're more females then I realized. Lol "other".
@ariesxmasters: I kind of thought there were more, but maybe I'm basing that on unreliable thinking. :)
Lol "other" though? There aren't just male and female people in the world. Though I don't actually know how many people chose that option seriously, so some of them could just be messing around.
Hmm I haven't read it yet. It looks good, I just prefer to wait until comics come to Marvel Unlimited or tpb. I'll definitely read it eventually.
@v_scarlotte_rose: I'm pretty confident all of them are just joking around when they put other.

Then again there is that.
