Poll Favorite Comic Runs VOTING: Andy Diggle's GREEN ARROW: YEAR ONE vs. THUNDERBOLTS (137 votes)

GREEN ARROW: YEAR ONE 59%
THUNDERBOLTS 20%
I love both of them 4%
Sorry, I'm not a fan of either one 3%
I'm ashamed to admit I haven't read either and won't be able to before Friday 14%

Welcome to the Favorite Comic Runs' spotlight, Andy Diggle!

This week, we're taking a look at two thoroughly awesome runs by the writer: THUNDERBOLTS (#126-136) and GREEN ARROW: YEAR ONE. During his time with the infamous Marvel team, Diggle created a whole new roster for the group, brought Mr. X into the book, gave Songbird a bit of attention, and even included a crossover with Deadpool. And over at DC, Diggle revealed Oliver Queen's action-packed time on the island. This limited series showed us how Oliver transformed himself into Green Arrow and had fantastic artwork by Jock and David Baron. Both of Diggle's runs beg to be read, but we want to know which one you prefer and why. Do you love the chaos that went down in THUNDERBOLTS or is GREEN ARROW: YEAR ONE too iconic to lose?

Want to re-read these runs before picking a side? Don't worry, there's no rush at all! Voting will remain open until this Friday morning (ET). That should be a good amount of time for you to leap back into these runs to refresh your memory or even experience them for the first time. After giving it some proper thought, be sure to vote and then share your thoughts with a post. Make it awesome enough and there's a chance we'll feature it in the updated article.

Check the homepage this Friday to see which run takes the prize and why. In the meantime, feel free to make future match-up suggestions in the comments below or tell us via Twitter.

Still haven't read either one but I've read his Hellblazer and The Losers run and I enjoyed both.

I think you'd like The Losers, k4tz.

I voted for Green Arrow because I haven't read Thunderbolts.

Nice to see the new options, especially the "I didn't like either" it was really necessary last week :-P

Kudos to you, Gregg, for including a wider variety of options. I've never really had need of them but I know others have been asking for them.

Green Arrow: Year One. It's the quintessential modern-day Green Arrow origin, and its ideas are still being borrowed to this day, nearly seven years later. Diggle and Jock were also at the top of their game.

Thunderbolts was spectacular, but I'm going with Year One. Its the quintessential Green Arrow story.

I'm going with Green Arrow: Year One because I haven't read Thunderbolts yet but I thought Year One was a really great book telling Oliver's past and origins and showing how he became GA and all.

GA:Year One. While his run on Thunderbolts was good it wasn't long enough to be truly great. And Jock drew GA: Year One plus it also gave us Arrow and the character of Diggle.

I've only read Green Arrow Year One and some of his Hellblazer series, but I really liked Green Arrow Year One. I was really sad when Andy Diggle left DC...

I picked Green Arrow: Year One.

People who know me know that my favorite character is Green Arrow. When I first became interested in the character, I went asking for some recommendations, and Year One was at the top of everyone's list. Although it was not the first Green Arrow I read, once I did, it easily became my favorite Green Arrow story (at least until The Outsiders War came along).

One of my favorite aspects of Oliver Queen is his transformation from a self-centered, spoiled, careless playboy to a more compassionate man, and this transformation is at the center of Year One. Andy Diggle was able to masterfully display this - with each passing issue/chapter, you can see Ollie changing even more.

I also have to give Mark "Jock" Simpson's art credit. Year One features what I feel some of the best battles Green Arrow has taken part in, and the cinematic quality of Jock's art was a major factor in this opinion.
