Poll Favorite comic book movie director? (57 votes)
Who's your favorite Comic Book movie Director?
Who's your favorite Comic Book movie Director?
Nolan. Easy.
The guy brutally stomps these guys outside of CBM especially.
In terms of comic book movies? You sure about that Mr.Pool?
@flameboy298: Definitely.
TDK/Batman Begins are tied for the best CBM imo, with Winter Soldier and prolly DoFP close behind.

How do you feel about Joss Whedon and Zack Snyder?
@flameboy298: Both are pretty awesome. Snyder can be hit and miss sometimes, but I really like Watchmen and MoS. He's a visual director who needs good scripts/storylines to stick to to make great films.
Whedon is obviously solid since he made Avengers, but we'll see if he can make AoU live up to the hype. Hopefully he can because AoU is sounding awesome.
He's only made one CBM so it doesn't feel right voting for him for one alone.
And what's sad is that he may never work on a superhero movie ever again.
Nope most likely not if Marvel didn't decide to make one whole Universe he probably could bring realism to something like Punisher or Moon Knight.
I voted Nolan for The Dark Knight, but Bryan Singer definitely belongs up there. what he did with the 3 X Men films was incredible, and the plots where well grounded.
And The Dark Knight..............come on, need I say more?
So far it has to be Zack Snyder, followed by Nolan, then Jon Favreau.
strange order

I can see his working on these 2 characters not due to realism but because Nolan loves broken, psychologically challenged characters.

Its pretty much based on my favorite comic book movies so far. Man of Steel was easily my favorite, followed by the Dark Knight Trilogy, followed by the first Iron Man. Of note, Snyder's style lends itself the most to comic book films, as shown by MoS, the Watchmen, and 300. As a director he is the only one who literally makes movies that look like Comic Books.
What would be your order?
So another Marvel vs DC thread?
No idea were you got that from...

You may have not intended it but threads like these always turn unto these and it already is. People really aren't naming their favorite director, they're just naming their favorite movies. If you're a DC fan, you chose Nolan, if you're a Marvel fan, you chose Whedon. Its usually how these things go.

Except Snyder is beating Whedon in the polls :/.
I voted Nolan but I love Captain America Winter Soldier, directed by Anthony Russo, and Joe Russo

Are you trying to say that there are more Marvel fans on the site because that is not true.
Or did you mean to say Nolan which doesn't mean anything, people are still voting for their favorite movies.

Just because their naming there favorite movies means They're really a "Marvel Fan" or a "DC fan"
They just like their movies..and Guillermo del toro didn't do a DC or a Marvel movie and people voted for him so its not like that at all.

Just forget it, you're missing the point.

Im saying your thesis is wrong. DC fans arent just voting Nolan, and Mavel fans arent just voting Whedon, or else ZACK SNYDER wouldnt be outperforming Whedon. At best, you could claim that: 1) This site has almost twice as many DC fans as Marvel fans, and 2) Snyder and Nolan are splitting the DC vote.

Exactly..
Matthew Vaughn spite. Kick-Ass and First Class FTW.
Glad I'm not the only one who voted for Matthew Vaughn
Nolan.... not only did he get a writing credit for Man of Steel (second Favorite CBM) but also directed TDK (third Favorite) as well as BB and TDKR decent movies both,
also Inception, a great adaptation from the wonderful writing talent that is, Phillip K Dick
PS My hats off for Zack Snyder, Tim Burton and Guillermo Toro, great directors both in the CBM realm and out of it.
Certainly not. My favorite movie is Cap2. but I specifically did not vote for the Russos because I feel they are awful directors that stumbled upon a grand movie. Their resume until Cap2 is severely lacking. As well my top 10 CBMs include seven Marvel Movies, not one of them is Avengers, this is very poorly written with very forced dialogue, I like Joss Whedon, I like his X-men Run, I like Firefly, he is a very good director, but his CBM is one of the poorest examples on this list (the poorest being Schumaker of course) your argument in invalid trolling.
Snyder is second? Over Whedon? Oh, come on...
Nolan is the best director to ever direct a CBM, not counting Ang Lee since Ang's Hulk was...yeah.
@husk: Nolan has a story credit for MoS, he only listened to and pitched Goyer's story actually. MoS is Goyer's movie.

I knew it wasn't written by Nolan, didn't know Nolan only listened to and pitched? is this acurate? anyway news to me, I only stated that he has a writing credit, which is the broad catagory of credit that includes: written by, story, screenplay, and based on novel by. anyway, Nolan still has a writing credit on my second fav CBM (MOS) as well as director of my third (TDK)
@thatguywithheadphones: Its funny Snyder is in second place yet it seems everywhere I guy people seem to hate MoS
