Faith in Humanity Restored - Thank You Marvel!

So I came across something on Superhero memebase the other day and looked into and have to admit - Marvel totally restored my faith in them and humanity.

Basic run-down is a 4 year old boy who is pretty much completely deaf got depressed last year and refused to wear his hearing aid. I have 2 kids of my own (now both older) and if either of them started becoming depressed at such a young age I would have been devastated. He told his mother he didn't want to wear it because "superheros don't wear blue ears" (referring to his hearing aid).

She wrote to Marvel and they did the only thing they could think of I guess - created a Superhero who used a hearing aid! Introducing, The Blue Ear. They also sent him some 1980's issues of Hawkeye, apparently it's part of the characters history that for a time he lost 80% of his hearing and needed a hearing aid. They then drew up a picture of The Blue Ear as a child, "wearing a blue hearing aid) teamed up with Hawkeye and made the boy an honorary Avenger!

But yeah, I loved this story.

Cool, now looks like the kids in wheel chairs, and such should be getting this treatment as well.

Aw what a touching story. Even when they're screwing their fictional characters over, at least Marvel are decent to the cases where fans are in a less fortunate position in their lives.
