Excuse for not getting a Premium Membership?

So what excuse do you have for using Comicvine but not getting a premium membership to support its growth? Who knows, maybe if more people got premium memberships CV could got some good engineers from India and CV will stop being so freaking buggy!

They might as well just have a Donate Tab because that essentially what Premium is. Not that I'm complaining Comic Vine is pretty awesome and they don't try to push the premium on you or remind you of it's existence every video like some youtubers I've watched.

I would rather spend $50 on a single scoop of some shilvty Amish home-made ice cream than purchase a year long membership for Comicvine.

I got a month's subscription to change my username, but that's it. If I was a paying member of the site, I'd be pretty p_ssed, considering all the glitches that seem to plague the site. Plus, it's not very user friendly, profile wise etc, and options like blocking other users. It's not a huge complaint since I still visit and participate on the site, but paying a subscription based on what I've seen so far isn't worth it. Not yet, anyway.

If it's free already then I might as well keep it free.

Oh yeah.. Pay for a service I can't even swear on if the mood strikes me?

And where I am supposed to get 50 dollars? To support what? This web is mostly based on forums, so it would make more logic to pay US.

Anyway, I am glad when I have 15 bucks and when I get over it, I will spend it on things I need, not for this.

1. Money doesn't grow on trees.

2. Some of us are actually broke.

3. 50$ is not cheap.

4. If you live in America like myself then you know the economy is doing pretty bad, so much so, a lot of Americans are having trouble finding jobs.

Because I don't see a need for a premium membership for myself IMO.

@gizmorino: G-Man always talks about premium content but it pretty much never happens. Every once in a while there's something but it's generally not worth it imo. I could be mistaken but the way I interpret it is that they're taking a "if more people paid for it, we could release more content" stance rather than a "it we released more content, more people would pay for it" stance.

I don't purchase the premium membership because as all the money i have budgeted for donation goes to my church's missionary work and the Pittsburgh Children's Hospital. While I enjoy coming to this site, I'd rather give those organizations any extra money that I have.

@timelordscience: well they shouldn't make the difference more clear if not it will really suck, changing of names and a gold badge is still o.k and the other bonus freebies they get... If they can add more post like posting more than 2 times before 'you post too many messages' it will be okay, and new users don't get restriction, there will be difference but not clear.. Something like that is o.k
