@grandharrier: then you have tried to read convergence and futures end that would have helped

@teerack: Not sure who you're talking about. I'm not pretending. I got to read issue 41. Spoiler: I loved it.
@quinnofthestoneage: We'll add a link to it at the beginning of these posts like we sometimes did before.

I'm mostly talking about how everyone was kind of like "eh..." when they first started to tease it with the futures end stuff(i don't remember what those aliens that invaded were called but darkseid's minions), and then this last week I've seen so many people twitting #darkseidwar all hyped and I'm wondering what I missed that got everyone so excited about it when to me it just sounds like the first Justice League arch all over again.

I actually pre-ordered a bunch of the new DC stuff on Comixology. A lot of it looks pretty great and I'm curious to see what'll hold my interest. For this week I pre-ordered Green Arrow, Midnighter, and Omega Men. I'm also picking up Action Comics, Justice League, Green Lantern (maybe), and Spider-Man Renew Your Vows (maybe).
@teerack: We don't want another event. Events are confusion and costly. I just want to read an intriguing book w/o a bunch of cash grab tie-in to understand whats happening. Darseid War is just that.
That's a pretty good point. The story becoming self contained does make it sound more appealing.
Will definitely get Midnighter and JL but I'm curious as to how Hal is regular GL in JL but is renegade in his own book, how is that possible?

Because DC is aiming for a "looser" continuity post-convergence in their lineup.
@mysoulz: meaning the writer can do what the F they wanna do no matter how confusing it may be? That's brilliant.
Action Comics #41
Wonder Woman Annual #1
Justice League #41
Lobo #7
Midnighter #1
Big Man Plans #3
Crossed Badlands #78
Groot #1
The Maxx Maxximized #20

Dan DiDio and Jim Lee revealed their post-convergence plans in their interview. And this is what Jim Lee said on the subject:
Rather than having 52 books all in the same continuity and really focusing on keeping a universe that is tightly connected and has super-internal consistency and really like one flavor, we’ve really kind of broken it up.
He also explained the reasoning for pursuing their efforts to loosen the comic line in continuity. You could read more here if you're interested.
So yea, it's the reason why you see Hal being a Green Lantern in the JL book and wearing an ancient device in another. The same reason that John Stewart is in the Lost Army title where he and the Green Lantern Corps are no longer in the main DC Universe, but yet he's making an appearance in the Darkseid War.
But all titles that are lantern related will have a closer continuity, since Sinestro is going to be the new peacekeeping force in the DCU, while the GLC are no longer present in the main universe under the same writer.
@mysoulz: so they screwed up so big with New52 they just decided to say screw continuity and cohesion between books? Like I said brilliant. Thanks for the link man!
@wavemotioncannon: lol I know what you mean. I would say positively that you don't have to worry about investing in so much crossovers . But yea, it's a little frustrating when try to figure out the timeline on these characters.
No problem!
