DOFP Quicksilver Trailer
@dagmar_merrill: All the win for the first post not being a negative nancy
His character seems annoying, but in a funny way, and his costume grew on me.
Much like the comic
Still not a fan of his costume but I could definitely see him being the breakout character of the movie considering his light-hearted personality is in contrast to how most of these mutants in these films conduct themselves.
@v_scarlotte_rose: They can't use Pietro because Marvel are and Marvel can't use Quicksilver because Fox is.
@jonny_anonymous: That's kind of an unfair trade if Fox can still use Maximoff.
@v_scarlotte_rose: I'm not sure if they can both use that or not.
@jonny_anonymous: I suppose he could be Pietro Frank in the Marvel films if they can't. That seems uneven though, if Marvel only got the first name to work with.
Any idea if the costume had a rights battle? The Marvel version is looking to be more accurate than Fox's, which makes me wonder if only one of them could use it.
Quicksilver (QS) in DOFP does look dumb, but it makes sense, I mean it's not like his costume is an eyesore, imo. I wasn't expecting much of QS, until I heard of the reactions people got from early screening, which were very positive, and this trailer was pretty awesome too. I'm a bit more excited for DOFP now, definitely could become my #1 favorite cbm.
QS is Magneto's son in DOFP, right? Has that been confirmed?
@v_scarlotte_rose: I don't know but he doesn't wear any costume in DOFP.
Poster was garbage, but the costume seems to suit the character.

No, it hasn't not been confirmed at all. Frankly based on the trailers, I highly doubt they're related at all.
He looks awesome.
Zack is go into have to step up his game when using Flash
Agreed
@thehipkid: Makes me curious as to how the CW's Flash will be portrayed.

@thehipkid: I've seen the news and the pic. I was more thinking, "how bad is low-budget super-speed going to look next to super-speed in the movies", what with Quicksilver in both DoFP and Avengers AOU, and even the Kryptonians in Man of Steel.
As for this movie though, looks like they've gone an interesting route. A mix of sped-up movement and slow-motion stuff.
@fallschirmjager: Well that's kind of disappointing, Fox has the rights to Magneto, QS, and SW (?) they should be related.

I'm not confirm or denying either way. I don't know. I'm just saying.
I like AOU's speed effect better because its more visual. This QS kinda does look like a teleporter (besides the slow motion).
However, that being said, that slow mo scene looks hella fun. I hope my theatre is packed. Haven't had much reactions since Avengers. QS looks as if he's gonna draw a lot of laughter (hopefully cheering, but that's rare for me :P).
@maximizer: Have we even seen AOU Quicksilver move yet?
@jonny_anonymous: Cap 2 :/
Like I said I think it's better because its more visual. Reminds me of Nightcrawler's smokey effect in X2.
@maximizer: Have we even seen AOU Quicksilver move yet?
Yeah we have actually he was ricocheting around his cell at the end of Captain America. DOFP just does straight up speed no real affect and AOU kinda has a almost vapor trail behind him when he moves (as opposed to the usual speed trail thing other tv shows and movies do) and his body gets distorted like he's constantly vibrating so the other guy is right AOU is more visual than DOFP but I still think the speed effects in this movie are pretty awesome.
"But what we do get here is largely fantastic, not only re-energising old-favourite characters (and after his two spin-offs, Wolverine was in dire need of re-energisation) but introducing intriguing new ones. Most surprising is the fact that the super-speedy Quicksilver (Evan Peters), whose Ramona Flowers-y appearance did not inspire much confidence in marketing materials, turns out to be the coolest thing in the film. QS is going to be the best part of the movie.
I like it! Although I think Fox passed up on the opportunity to make him Magneto's son. Marvel weren't allowed to do that!

Agreed but the plot made it difficult to do that.
I prefer this over AoU's style.
