Would you ever see a Viltrumite in a spawn book or Dynamo 5 in and Invincible book

No, not IMO. It is more split up in different houses like Top Cow and Todd McFarlane Productions. However for time to time a character will apear in other image books than there home studio, Savage Dragon do this a lot. However IMO it is not different from a Marvel Character being in a DC book and vice versa. Erik Larsen is just a bit more large to loan his character out to other artists.

This.

And sometimes Spawn, Savage Dragon, Invincible ect will turn up in each others books but there isn't really continuity between the books

Which is why I think it is hard to say there is one universe. It is even a more split universe than DC is.

it is one universe but what happens in one book doesn't effect any of the others and they don't do crossovers all that often...the thing is that Image's books are all creator owned so Robert Kirkman can't really write anything in Invincible that would affect Savage Dragon

@dondave: Some characters sometimes appear in other books purposely and sometimes they appear as cameos. For example there was a big team up book with most of the characters and on the other side in Chew: Secret Agent Poyo #1 Poyo appeared in the Viltrumite War when he wasn't mentioned in it in the main Invincible book.

@ danhimself Well that is kind of my point. What happens to Savage Dragon in Spawn and vice versa only happens to him here and not in his own series. Maybe with time image will be a more connected universe but now it just seems as many universe under one umbrella.
