Do you know any comic readers who think Aquaman is lame?

I bring this up because I had a music teacher who's favorite superhero when he was a kid was Aquaman, yet he still calls him lame. I think it's because he loved to swim.

I don't know anyone in both real world and on comicvine that says that Aquaman has lame new52 books.

Although all my non-comics friends say that Aquaman is a lame character.

But no. I don't know any CB reader that say that Aquaman is lame

Funny thing is untill I picked up his New 52 stuff I thought he was the corniest character ever made. His New 52 stuff quickly changed my mind, I think he is great and so is Mera.

Of course he's lame, he can only talk to fish.

It bums me out that it took some people till the New 52 to respect Aquaman because honestly he is one of the least changed characters after the reboot.

I haven't read any of his new stuff, but I do think the classic one is kinda lame

Ignorance from the over-saturation of the "silver age" era still weighs on folks. A lot of people still think Superman's the boyscout from the Donner films, that Aquaman just talks to fish, that Wonder Woman is Superman with bewbs, and Lex Luthor plots evil deeds under a swamp. Only Batman has broken free from the stereotype due to, I believe at least in part, the Burton films replacing the image of Adam West's Batman.

Waaaaaaaaaaaay too many people, heck entire new generations think so thanks to Robot Chicken, and Family Guy LOL.

All of that cracks me up. You can't help but to laugh, it's so funny.

No matter what the comics do to Aquaman, this song will always be how I see him.

It's just one of those influential things that forever shape your view of something. I want to appreciate the character but... Aquacrack.

No, but I know non-comic readers who think so, yet they act like they're knowledgeable about comics based on them seeing The Dark Knight and a few Marvel movies.

Aquaman is so lame. Even a large amount of comic readers thinks so. Thats why WB got the most biggest, uglyest, meaness mutherf[rick]er in hollywood to play him. Ther hoping it helps change his image. I mean if the guy who played Conan and Kal Drago doesnt demand respect nothing will.

Comic readers? Real comic readers? Not just ones that read a comic every so often?

I legitly don't think that I know any actual real comic fans who still to this day think that Aquaman is lame. Sure, some don't care for him, but to dedicated readers, that stigma is dying.

Yea of course I know a couple. Not every character can be loved by everybody including "real" comic readers.

He gets a lot of hate from how he was portrayed in the old cartoons, and even worse from Family Guy...lol

He has had a couple great runs, and has been really good in the New 52

Mostly Marvel fans who don't actually read DC Comics and so aren't exposed to Aquaman at all, or people who only have a light interest in comic characters and who don't actually delve into the world too deeply. It's so frustrating to have to explain WHY Aquaman is my favorite superhero every time I talk about the topic with a new person.

I got a Aquaman T-Shirt for Christmas. Its uber lame.

I think Aquaman is lame, but I haven't read an Aquaman book since the 70's. :) However, he was sooo lame then, that his reputation from that time has stopped me from trying his newer books.

I used to, until Geoff made me respect him. Throne of Atlantis might make him respectable to the GP.
