Which do you prefer? Physical or Digital comic?

Is there really any reason to buy a physical comic anymore now that we got digital?

Digital comics seems to have more benefits to me than a physical comic from what I am to understand.

Should they just stop making physical copies all together and completely move to digital?

1. Convenience- Digital comics you can purchase right from the internet any time and pretty much anywhere and get them on the spot while physical comic. . . is precisely that . .physical, you have to get up and go to a local comic shop and hope they have what you are looking for.

2. Limitations- If you buy a digital comic you don't have to really worry about if they're in stock versus you going to a comic shop and hoping they have some in stock since it's physical.

3. Long term quality- physical comics can get dirty while digital is. . . yeah you get the idea.

I get digital comics because it's my personal preference, I don't have anything against physical.

I buy both physical and digital if I have physical version, I won't buy it's digital version and vice versa....

I just have physical comics to give me a range but I guess physical comics is good who prefer all of thier comics in physical form which is nothing wrong with that...

Some of us still value the physical sensation of touching the actual pages.

I definitely prefer digital for the reasons the OP mentioned. Also, I really like "smart panels" and "guided view" options. My first digital comic was All New X-Men. I enjoyed the digital experience so much that I've bought very few physical comics since.

It's all preference. I do a mixture of digital and TPB. I want to keep some sort of collection, and you can't get everything digital. But sometimes digital is too convenient to pass up on and they have all those great bundles and deals from time to time. I say get the best of both worlds.

Plus, you don't own a digital comic. Any second now you could lose those files.

Digital comics will never be sought after like the physical copies are, for a few reasons:

Digital can vanish in the blink of an eye

Digital will never increase in value

Try having an artist autograph your digital copies

Physical comics display much nicer

I so much prefer physical. I'm not a very sentimental person, but there is just something about buying a physical comic in a comic book store and holding it in my hands that is so much more personal than just getting it online and looking at it through a screen.

I have come around to digital comics through Marvel Unlimited. I still buy physical for titles I collect, Spiderman for example, but digital is cool for titles I don't value as part of a collection.

Physical comics feel better, smell better, have more inherent value, they can be signed, they can be displayed, and they build a true comic collection. I don't enjoy digital very much. It's kind of a culture killer; it removes the fun of comic collecting and going to the local shop every week. Physical comics are more than tangible objects and are the back bone of the industry and culture we love.

That being said, I know some people don't have access to a local shop or just don't have space, which makes going digital totally understandable. But if you have the choice, physical is the way to go.

Have you ever smelled a real comic? if you have you know physicals are better. they feel better they look better, of course this i all opinion but i think many of you agree with me

also what about going to a comic shop.....one of the only places you can have a real life conversation about your comics interests.

personally i hate reading on a tablet....physical comics are just...better in my opinion

I forgot to mention that the art looks way better in person. I get really absorbed in the art of physical books and up reading for a longer amount of time than i do with digital. I tend to speed through my digital reads.

Have both but seriously prefer physical. I feel with physical there is a psychological aspect to it, holding it in your hands, turning the pages and yes even the smell etc. It makes you appreciate the medium better. Like I have a pdf of all the Sandman series and plowed through it...but somehow feel like I didn't even read them. I understand it's faster and more convenient...but maybe everything shouldn't be.

I used to think that as well during the 90's, but last year I sold 4 copies of New Mutants #98 for more money than I ever thought they'd be worth. That will never happen with digital comics.
