Do Threads get deleted?

Just wondering if threads get deleted. I know they get locked but are their cases when they must be deleted.

I mainly ask this because I'm sure I made one about the Unspoken coming back because of Infinity and trying to be ruler again but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

(I don't think I'm being stupid..... But that's always a possibility)

Bot/spam/advertisement threads or threads that severely break the rules and go too far are deleted.

Spam threads are deleted. Also any thread that has content that shouldn't be viewed on the site. Like one time a user made a thread with pics of hentai tentacle porn just to annoy the mods.
