Do the abstracts have to eat?

Do Eternity, Phoenix Force, Lucifer, Death, etc., take in energy of some kind, or is this not necessary?

Well, I figured it wasn't in the traditional human sense. But I still wasn't sure if beings as advanced as LT or Death still needed to take in energy of some sort, or if they were beyond such a thing.

Although the Silver Surfer doesn't need to eat, but again, I'm not sure if that's supposed to refer to "traditional" eating, which would imply that Surfer still takes in energy of some sort (which would seem logical, since Surfer is very much finite and it seems impossible that his body could sustain itself eternally without some outside source).

@johnnyz256: There's actually a scene in the original Galactus story that dealt with this. It had the Silver Surfer discussing with Alice (the Thing's girlfriend at the time) how inefficient the human way of consuming energy was and seemed to convert it directly into pure energy for himself with touch.

Where does the energy Galactus consumes go to? Why does it leave him? Makes little sense to me. It's basically a plot device, otherwise he wouldn't have any reason to visit Earth or have conflicts with characters that we could actually care about.
