Did a search and I couldn't fin this topic, sorry if its already been done

As readers we get the great pleasure of being able to have an outside perspective on heroes and their various aliases. But do comicbook citizens know that a hero is the same hero as before when they change names?

For Example: Robin and Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin

Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel

Hawkeye and Ronin

Speedy and Red Arrow, Arsenal

So what do you think the public thinks when a hero changes their name on a whole and for any specific characters?

Probably not

Sure not in the case of the Bat family

Tim even changed his voice when he became red robin

Ms. Marvel to Captain Marvel most likely.

Hawkeye and Ronin no.

Speedy to Red Arrow maybe but not Arsenal being he fell off the public eye then.

At the very least, common thugs know Nightwing used to be Robin. As for everyone else, I've no clue.

In my opinion it is a case by case thing rather that they know/don't know. I don't even think the general public know that has been more than one Robin or Batman.
