Not particularly, but at the same time I feel like it fit this version of the character.

He was definitely entertaining.

Look, Ultron wasn't Kevin Hart funny. He was Joker funny.

I liked Ultron. He was not laugh out loud funny, more like this dude has a screw loose funny.

Threats should be taken seriously but jokes and one liners are all over. So nope I dont think he was menacing. It was a fun movie, kids will enjoy it. I think it was meant to be that way because this guy below approves it.

He was about as James Spader as I expected him to be...

Plus anyone who's watched a Joss Whedon show knows that he likes to incorporate the use of humorous dialogue frequently.

He was legitimately funny some of the time, but also unfunny as well. I enjoyed the movie but I do think some of the jokes fell flat, and it does take away the overall quality of a villain if they're trying to be funny and failing at it. I did think Ultron was a good villain, but definitely could have been better.

I was a bit shock when I realized it was Spader when he started to monologue. I have expected him to start on a tirade about "Have you ever been to Cancun? Oh the ladies are lovely there, and there was this one waitress in particular who could-" etc etc... Like Black List Raymon Reddington. Cause he came off like reddington not Ultron.

In all honesty, I thought he was scary menacing in the trailer the way they cut it.

Trailer one You are all just puppets. Tangles in strings... <crushes head> strings~~~

Final Trailer: We live in a new world, a world where people would look up into the sky and see hope.... I think I'll take that from them first.

Then we got Raymon Reddington Ultron.

I agree. Sometimes it is too frequent, but I think they were trying to find the unlikely sweet spot that Guardians found. Again though, most comic books are that way, sarcasm or humor especially in conflict.

I think that's what they were going for..
