Did we just lose are hot pasty, red head Mera in the DCCU?

Well while pondering over the fail that is DCCU Aquaman I started thinking about the rest of the Atlantians. If....IF DCCU Atlantians are now supposed to have a Samoan look, will all of them have DCCU Aquaman's hair and skin tone or is it just AM. If it is a new look for all Atlantians did we just lose are shot to finally see a thick, pasty, red head Mera?

I think I'd be more pissed about losing Mera's look than AM's.

So did we just get robbed of true Meta?

I would be pissed too man, she is possibly my favorite female character.

However there is some hope as Mera is tipically from a different tribe than arthur so it's possible her tribe is more white.

no im serious, we have different ethnicitys up here, no reason there can not be different Atlantian clans or races, hell marvel had like 15 different vampire breeds revealed in curse of the mutants.

Momoa is from Hawaii, not Samoa, Hawaiians and Samoans are Polynesian, but calling him Samoan its like saying all people in Latin America are Mexicans.

I dont have problem with race change, from all the boring AquaMomoa, the fact he isnt white isnt my problem.

I have a bigger problem with the fact he isnt blonde, look terribly human, besides his generic an boring look.

At this point i dont care if Peter Parker its asian, i only want they to let the character be who they are and dont try to force them to be badbutts or just to be an small part of who they are.

Except Mera isnt Atlantean.
