Did venom weaken peter parker

Venom got spider powers by bonding to peter parker, right? So after it left peter, did it weaken peter and take his powers, or did he just somehow manage to replicate them? Basically, did the symbiote weaken peter parker's powers, or did his powers remain as good as before?

No, he didn't.

It simply copied the genetic x-factor of the spider bite. What I mean is, it copied the effect the bite had on Peter, and the multiplier for strength/speed/etc that applied to Peter to give him his spider-proportionally enhanced abilities. The only thing it didn't copy was spider-sense, but made up for it by giving it's host organic webbing. Don't know why or how, but it couldn't copy that and filled in the gap of Peter's powers.
