I don't think it did..not the 2013 reboot.
Is there a comic book arc this movie followed to any extent? nothing looked like source material.
as in the story arc or origins ect,not character detail

@wolfrazer: yes thats what i meant. ill fix it.
Well all i know is Ronan was waaay off.
As far as the story, i believe it's original like most MCU films.

@beaconofstrength: Likewise, but without the F4 side of it, what's the point?

It was an original film and story, there was nothing that really inspired it to my knowledge. It's not even the complete original team of the 2008 run.
Well all i know is Ronan was waaay off.
He was based off of Ultimate Ronan not 616 Ronan, so he was pretty spot on in that aspect.
@spidey_jackson: Well when DnA were handling most of cosmic Marvel it was amazing IMO

Not really...
No movie follows it's source 100%. It's the main reason why I love movie adaptations so much, getting to see a different version of a story I know.
I think most movies won't really stick to source material that precisely. Well, it doesn't need to. But in the sequel, I hope the range of characters they include becomes big and exciting.
@arturocalakayvee: Not very well versed in the 1610.

@jaken7: So he wasn't based off Ultimate Ronan?

Not as far as I can tell. The movie Ronan looks really close to 616 Ronan. Ultimate Ronan was a really minor character, but he wasn't blue and he looked way different. He was also Thanos' son.
