According to comicbookmovie.com the upcoming Deadpool Movie will be rated PG-13, and not R. If this is true, what is your guys' opinion on that, personally I seriously doubt it will be rated R since that would ice out younger fans, and potential moviegoers.
Deadpool will be PG-13, thoughts?

A lot of people don't know this but... the leaked test footage that everyone was raving about.. that everyone said this movie needs to be exactly like this... was in fact PG-13 lol
@dbvse7: @matthewparker: It being PG-13 is a good thing. Having a R rating would cut the audience in half.
Beata
@spidey_jackson: Still.
@dbvse7: Well the TF was PG13, and it was awesome.
Beata
I think it will be fine. All his comics - except for the MAX titles - only have parental advisories, anyway.
Besides, a lot menages to find it's way into PG-13 movies nowadays.

But will a pg-13 merc with a mouth just be a merc?
@eyedcyou: @dimitridkatsis: @swordmasterd: The TF was PG13, and everyone loved it.
Beata
@spidey_jackson: Excuse my dumbness. What is TF?
@eyedcyou: Test footage. :D
Beata
@spidey_jackson I didn't and it's not the same.
@dimitridkatsis: How is it not the same?
Beata
@squares: There was Dredd.
Beata
@spidey_jackson: What, the new one?
I keep forgetting that's a comic book movie.
Not that I care but, nowadays you can get away with a lot in a PG-13 movie.
Honestly I would have preferred an X-Force movie featuring Deadpool. That kind of thing seems right up Fox's alley.
@squares: Why?
Beata
@spidey_jackson: Because the comics are European and not my kind of comics, I guess. It's not like it's a well-known comic, anyways.
@spidey_jackson: Oh lol. Well still. I want this movie to have the same tone as Kick-Ass. Can't do that with a Pg-13 rating.
@eyedcyou: Fair enough.
Beata
@spidey_jackson: Oh my gosh! Thank you you're the first person to think logically about movie ratings.

I always thought of that as Marvel's equivalent of an R rating (with the Max titles being NC-17).
Considering what you can get away with in PG13 movies these days, who cares? Expendables 3 was PG13, and it made a joke over how violent it was and still acceptable. Deadpool comics, aside from his MAX stuff, are always rated Teen anyway. So...someone inform me what the big deal is?

My thoughts exactly. By today's standards, PG-13 can still be Deadpool-level gory
The movie just got greenlit. There's absolutely no way the MPAA has rated it yet. The movie needs to be completely filmed first.
The voice of reason, ladies and gentlemen.
I dont see any reason why it should be R Rated.
A real reason.
As long as they focus in Deadpool, its character driven, the comedy is well done, nothing of Tina Fey era bullshit comedy movies that are nothing but stand up, i mean Peten Sellers, Monty Python comedy movies that were comedy movies.
Edgar Wright is the only director that know how to direct comedy this day and also action scenes.
The tone is right and the plot is right, they can play.
The video that was online wasnt that violent, sexed up and its great.
People forget superheroes movies that are r rated fail to make money.
Also they fail to notice they said the same on Die Hard and the R Rater Die Hard was awfully bad, main reason it was r rated.
The comedy was stupid, the gore was pointless and the action was so damn boring.
Rating has nothing to do with how good a movie is, as long the action dont suck, the comedy is funny and the character is spot on, there is no need to get gore and sexual material, i mean Deadpool could play with the whole fact he has to keep the thing PG 13, blur things and do the beeps and all that, i mean as long as the movie does an Scott Pilgrim and isnt afraid to be a comic book made into a movie it would work.
Also it looks people dont understand R Rating actually or how the FCC works.

I find it a bit funny really. A lot of people's big reason they don't want the X-Men (aside from liking them in their own universe) back with Marvel/Disney was that they thought Fox was making their movies darker and would make these characters rated R with blood and bla bla bla.
That being said it'll be find, if it flops it sure as hell won't be because it's PG-13.
The movie just got green-lit. There's absolutely no way the MPAA has rated it yet. The movie needs to be completely filmed first.
@comicdude360: No problem :3
Beata
If it's PG13, it's ruined.
Anything short of Rated - R compromises the integrity of the character.
Hopefully it'll be good regardless. I read Suicide Squad is aiming for a Rated R too. We'll see I guess.
