Poll DC v Marvel 1: Better movie? (49 votes)
I'll be making series of polls comparing DC and Marvel movies, comic arcs, shows etc.
First up, Snyder's Man of Steel vs Branagh's Thor.

Man of Steel is better in a number of ways, I'll post 1 example.
Man Of Steel: Character Driven, Tries to develop an emotional connection with the Audience.
Thor: Look at me swing my hammer at sh!t.

Come on now, you can't think that's true. Thor is heavily character driven, hence why he spends a significant portion of the film on Earth, powerless, the dynamic between Loki, Thor & Odin is deeply emotional in my opinion. It also deals with the degradation of family, paternal love, brotherly love, what it means to be a good man and a good king, coming of age, the consuming nature of power etc.
If you think MoS is better, okay, but taking such a reductionist stand-point on Thor is unfair and biased.
Thor was certainly the better movie between the two, Man of Steel is pretty much known by most people to be only slightly better than TASM 2, and for good reason. On top of that, way too gritty and moody, thanks Christopher Nolan.

Yeah, granted he spent his time on earth powerless. But when he became worthy again he completed alienated his 'human' friends.

Not really, he had to leave to stop Loki straight away.
Then following the destruction of the Bifrost, the nine realms fell into chaos, as Asgard no longer held them in check. Once it had been reconstructed, Thor spent his time sorting that out. Then he goes back to Earth to find Jane as Heimdall can't seen her. He's still there.

So he went back to Earth because Heimdall couldn't see Jane?
But wasn't the Bifrost you know........still broken. Unless he doesn't need the Bi-Frost to travel.....Hmmm, intriguing questions.
@citizensentry: I'm not following. He'd literally just finished fixing all the crap in the 9 realms, then he gets back and Heimdall says he can't see her, so Thor goes to see what's up, because without potent interference, Heimdall can see everything.
Thor managed to get back to Earth in the Avengers because Odin had to muster dark energy to get him there. All this is in the films.
In a tie-in comic, it's explained that Dark Energy is not used regularly as it harms Odin when he uses it, as well as whoever he uses it on (Thor).
These polls aren't even beating a dead horse anymore. Now it's down to squishing the maggots crawling out of the carcass with a hammer.
Man of Steel for the stomp. MOS is underrated imo.
Yeah I agree, the film is underrated. The Feats he did though.....Not so much lol.

You know what I do when I come across a poll which is same as squishing the maggots crawling out of the carcass with a hammer? I ignore them. Try it.
I love them both, watched them multiple times. I'll say Thor now but I like Man Of Steel more each time so maybe next time it'll take it.
@conner_wolf: false is known to be split between the people who loved it and the people who hated it
Well MOS is awesome and Thor is like the worst MCU movie. Faora is better than anything in Thor.

Man of Steel definitely
I'm always surprised by how many people seem to dislike Thor. It's probably my favorite Phase 1 movie after Iron Man. It was the first movie in the MCU to actually resonate with me emotionally and had the best developed villain by far. Not to mention the absolutely gorgeous production design of Asgard.
@kfabz-23: And the people who like it are what I like to call, wrong.
@professionaltwitters: the film is pretty bad
@kfabz-23: Thanks for that deep and nuanced insight.
@professionaltwitters: I do my best to help
@rbt: IS it just me or does your profile pic look like Leo Messi?

Leo Messi as a robotic superhero. I will watch it.
Well, I didn't watch MoS in theatre. I didn't even download it. I watched it on a friend's computer to which he has downloaded it, and I still felt cheated.
MoS was terrible, awful, an insult to the intellect of a mature human being.
Thor wasn't a masterpiece, true, but I did enjoy watching it.
I voted Thor =P
