DC Relaunches 'NEW SUICIDE SQUAD' with New Roster in July

A day after announcing a new Teen Titans #1 with a new creative team to launch in July 2014, DC Comics today announced that Suicide Squad will also get a July relaunch, under the title New Suicide Squad from Sean Ryan and Jeremy Roberts.

The new series features a revamped lineup, with the cover showing Joker’s Daughter (she seriously needs a different name to refer to her as), Deathstroke, and Black Manta all standing behind the kneeling and chained up Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, and Deadshot.

In an announcement interview with IGN, artist Jeremy Roberts didn’t reveal much about the new lineup, aside from saying how much fun he’s having drawing Harley, Deathstroke, and Deadshot, and promising a “great jumping-on point.” IGN also revealed that the team’s first mission would take place in Russia, and that Waller (somewhat obviously, from the cover), no longer has the “autonomy” and force of A.R.G.U.S. behind her.

This title lost me the moment Kot was off it.

Get (that poor excuse of a) Harley and the Joker's Daughter off of the team already >.>

Manta and Deathstroke are interesting choices. I might have actually gave this a look were it not for Harley.

That looks god-awful. I give it 12 issues at the most before it's canceled.

Not familiar with the writer

I could do without the Jokers Daughter as a character all together. Also don't know anything about the writer, but I have seen some very impressive art from Jeremy Roberts, including the page he did in Harley Quinn #0. I'm interested to see how he does on ongoing full issues.

Wait.... Either I foresaw this in a dream or this was already announced.... Which was it? I know I've heard about this before somewhere.

Good to see the real slim slady is in this.

1. I knew that this was gonna get relaunched, as its cancellation was baffling, what I expected however, was more of a Secret Six vibe.

2.Manta I can get being on the Squad...but Deathstroke?? He really let Waller have that much control over him??

3. Do really need Harley AND Joker's Daughter on the team?? Seems redundant.

Otherwise, I'm glad it's back!!

Take out Jokers Daughter and I might buy it.

This also kills some tension if Forever Evil too since now we know that Black Manta and Deathstroke survive.

Yeah, I always felt Slade was too good for the Suicide Squad, guess New 52 Deathstroke isn't. (Or DC just want to use his new found popularity to boost sales and possibly promote the rumored Suicide Squad video game and show)

Harley's solo series has me coming around to her New 52 version. I agree with most of you with Joker's daughter. Just unnecessary. I might pick this up.

I am looking forward to this, I didn't pick up the first Suicide Squad run, but this looks great in my opinion. Deathstroke and Black Manta? Heck yeah, and Deadshot and Harley Quinn are still on the team-great news

I actually kind of like the Joker's Daughter character, her villains month issue did not do her justice, however, the one shot that she had was great in my opinion, so I think she is a nice addition to the team.

Oh, I didn't know Joker's Daughter (she seriously needs a new name) was gonna be in Harley's solo, could be...something.

1.) I haven't been impressed with Harley in the N52 at all; I wish someone would save her poor soul.

I can't agree enough. One point of confusion though. Everyone keeps saying "Joker's daughter" this isn't Duela Dent?

This is Duela Dent. Just a bastardized New 52 version.

Deathstroke was cancelled so now they stick him with Harley and Joker's Daughter. WTG DC! Nothing like turning him into a loser.
