DC Comics: Dead is DEAD.

James Robinson was on the Comicvine podcast this week and he said that DC claims that when characters die, they want them to stay dead. What are your thoughts on DC keeping the dead DEAD? Are you for it? Against it?

Riiiiight. So they really are going to ignore that they said the exact same thing after Blackest Night and then brought back dead characters with Flashpoint.

Of course, the new policy seems to be (and for Marvel, too) 'not actually dead, but displaced in time/another dimension/etc'.

Jason Todd stayed dead a lot longer than that, and look how that turned out...

If it really is true (which it's probably not), now none of the characters are going to die. Ever. Or, they look like they die, but are actually *insert plot device here*

Why would you say something like that? I want him back now. Take Morrison instead, I don't care.

Hopefully they bring Damian back before they put this new policy into place

Not because Damian is a bad character, but because it's kinda the entire point of the story.

wasnt Death dead in DC a couple of years ago?

I hope they stay true to that and try not to use it as a marketing gimmick. And as others have also said, they should minimize the number of times someone didn't actually die but was teleported somewhere else or whatever but seemed to die.

Even though I want Damian back because I love him he should stay dead.That's the way to see Batman suffering more and chinging.

it sounds interesting.. ill just be sad if they kill off anyone awesome and then they are actually gone for reals. It makes it interesting, but at the same time im a little worried of who they could kill

I feel like it might be overdone as it is right now but characters NEED to die once in a while for people not to get bored, but you cant just stop writing a character that thousands of people love.

So yeah I guess its fine with me aslong as they dont overkill it.

In fact I like his character so much that I hope he stays dead.

What is Dead is DC comics. And the readers promise it will stay that way.

I think comic book deaths can be summed up by the fact that I was reading about a character, and they were referred to as 'Currently Deceased'.
