DC Comics April 2016 Theme Month Variant Covers Revealed - John Romita Jr

This April, DC has a bunch of new variant covers coming out for another one of their themed variant months. What's coming down the line? Well, artist John Romita Jr is taking charge and working on covers with Klaus Janson, Danny Miki, Alex Sinclair and more!

DC gave us an exclusive look at the variants for BATMAN, GREEN LANTERN, MARTIAN MANHUNTER, ROBIN: SON OF BATMAN, and TITANS HUNT. Check them out below!

Keep your eye out for these covers in April!

Batman, Green Lantern, and Robin are the best ones so far.

The Robin and Martian Manhunter ones look great.

Love the MM one! He definitely made him look very cool!

Not a fan of his art tbh.

The physique is weird.. I'm not really fond of romita's Art.. Give Roccafort DC!

Robin looks haggard as hell on that Teen Titans cover.

Yikes. A whole month of variant covers to skip.

I get the feeling that many of these are gonna be hit or miss. Still interested to see how some of these turn out. I hope that Titans Hunt cover isn't done yet because the white background makes it feel very boring.

Now that would be an awesome variant month.

Always have, and always will, love Romita's art. Can't wait to pick up the Robin: Son of Batman one.

Some of the better work I've seen from Romita since he moved to DC. The New 52 Bat suit has rarely looked as good.

Klaus Janson and Scott Hanna are pretty much the only inkers left in comics who really know how to ink JR Jr.s pencils well.

Not to be negative. But at least I get to save money in April.

Not much of a fan of JRJRs recent work. Facial and body features are too rigid and blocky.

I'm not sure I've seen the OG's even yet. I've only seen the covers to about #50 I think!

The Batman and Martian Manhunter ones look great. Hope the Aquaman is as cool.

I prefer Romita Jr on non-superpowered characters like the Punisher, Daredevil and Batman.

Nothing really unique to any of these convers, just all basic character shots.

I love his art.

Also is Aqualad is the Teen Titans? If so I might start reading!

Apparently, I'm not a John Romita Jr. fan because none of those did anything for me. They all feel rather stiff to me like I'm looking at an action figure rather than a character actually moving.

I just don't like JRJR's art very much.

JRJR can only do two faces, but I loved him on spider-man with straczynsky, and love him now

John Romita Jr's art is terrible! Hopefully my LCS will have the regular April covers available for my DC pull titles. This is why DC is losing sales. Couldn't they get Darwyn Cooke to do special covers again? Or better yet, get Jason Fabok to do April covers.

It's Titans Hunt. The series where they're trying to *fix* the Titans history they botched at the beginning of the New52.

I'm not his biggest fan, but even I have to admit he does a mean Batman, Daredevil, and Punisher. Hated him on Superman, and I don't enjoy all the lines he puts in characters faces for shading. Everyone also has a block-y look to them, and like somebody else mentioned they all look stiff. I WILL admit, if he's the one who redesigned Martian Manhunter's look it's pretty badass. All the thin red lines though would be hard to translate panel to panel, I'd have tones those down a little.

Just awful, for the life of me I will never understand how this dude keeps getting work. Must be the last name.

I know he is a legend but I have always hated his art, well since about 1987 when he started exploring his individual style. These covers are quite good for him not his usual cubic bodies, glowering facial expressions or over creased clothing. I'm a big Spider-Man fan and have had to put up with him for years because he is a "fan-favourite". Not mine. His portrayal of Jimmy Six epitomises the ludicrously bulky bodies he loves so much. So there!

I hate when DC publishes themed variants (with the exception of anniversaries or the recent the teen titans go and the looney tunes variants) because I want story-oriented covers in my comics, even when what happens in the drawing doesnt happen in the story

DC should be spendig more time in quality variant covers which I havent seen from them in a long time instead of using themed variants as a gimmick

Of all the artists DC could poach from Marvel why go after JRJR?

All those covers done by Romita Jr! Someone is probably buying a pool for their house! lol I like Romita Jr. His interviews are very courageous. His views about the comic industry are very informative.
