DC Announces Prequel Comic to Arkham Knight Video Game

While Batman: Arkham Knight isn't going to hit your home consoles until June 2015, fans can find out about the new character for this game, whom has never appeared in comics before: Arkham Knight.

Entertainment Weekly exclusively announced the news about one of the biggest video game franchises, which has been kicking butt since 2009.

The book, which will be available digitally on February 24th, 2015, will be written by Peter Tomasi (BATMAN AND ROBIN) and will feature the art of Viktor Bogdanovic (REALITY CHECK) and inker Art Thibert (ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN). Dan Panosian will be doing the covers for the series.

The comic will pick up right where the game Arkham City left off. The city prison is shut down and the Joker is dead. Batman questions whether or not Gotham needs him.

The comic will be available on February 24th, 2015 and the game will be available on June 2, 2015.

I think so too. I haven't read any spoilers, so I don't know if there's been any kind of hints towards this. I feel as though they may have messed up by revealing the pre-order bonus of Jason Todd DLC. Two gun-wielding characters, "one" being playable? I feel like that's a pretty big coincidence. I can easily see one of them being a reskinned version of another. Granted, Rocksteady aren't a lazy studio, having Nightwing getting his own moves and gadgets in AC, so I can just as easily be wrong about this lol.

This. I always had to change my costume in the Arkham games to a costume with white eyes, IE, 70's Batman for Arkham City, and Knightfall Batman for Origins. I hate the eyes.

@fallbrigade: Jason Todd is a possibility for Arkham Knight and he could have been manipulated by Hugo Strange before Strange was killed. After Arkham City closed down, Scarecrow and Hush might have found the Arkham Knight in suspended animation and furthered his mental conditioning. I wuz hoping Arkham Knight would be a growth accelerated version of Damian Wayne. Every Robin has a cool title except for Damian. The Arkham Knight moniker would be perfect for him.

I didn't like the arkham city prequel. After reading the Injustice prequel. I decided to give the series a try but they didn't offer any interesting stories or concepts

I've wanted to see Damian show up in these games so badly. I was sure we were at least going to see his Batman suit show up as a skin in Origins. Timeline-wise, I guess he could show up as a cloned, super accelerated version of himself, maybe doing Ra's/The League's bidding. That'd be pretty sweet. I really hope we get his Bat-suit as a costume this time around though.

@redwingx: if I remember correctly, Rocksteady said the main villain of Arkham City would be Hugo Strange, and he ended up being a pawn of Ra'S al Ghul, and Joker stole the show.

And the assassins in Arkham Origins were supposed to have been hired by Black Mask and it was actually the Jokerbehind his mask all along

So I doubt Rocksteady wouldn't lie to us. Hell, I just hope Arkham Knight won't be the Joker. An arkham game without him stealing the show would be a good thing

They didn't lie to us. Hugo Strange was the main villain. Ra's only appeared in the end.

They aren't lying, they are proud to have finally created a character in the Batman universe, one that is memorable and created by them.
