How are they counterparts?
Admit it. Even if they aren't you still want to see them tearing at each others clothes...
There's nothing to admit. They aren't counterparts.
I don't see you actually adding any counterparts to this list.

Doesn't matter. They're still not counterparts.
*sigh*
Black Cat and Catwoman
Harley Quinn and Moonstone (more so to do with the fact that they're both former psychologists turned villains rather then their powersets.)
Mr. Fantastic and Plastic Man
Atom and Hank Pym
Living Lightning and Black Lightning
Elektra and Lady Shiva
Katana and Psylocke

Mr. Fantastic and Elongated Man

Living Lightning and Livewire
Elektra and Lady Shiva
Katana and Psylocke
@mervotron: Actually you were closer to right with Black Lightning than I was with Livewire, I thought you meant Living Laser not Living Lightning
Mister Mxyzptlk/Impossible man,Tony Stark/Bruce Wayne, War Machine/Ironman/Steel, X-men/Doom Patrol, Nova Corps/Lantern corps, Thanos/Darkseid, Civil War'Norman /Lex, Night Thrasher/Moonknight/Batman, The Wizard,Leader,Egghead/Brainiac,Wintersoldier/Nightwing,Bucky/Robin,Falcon,Angel/Hawkman, ... How are Iron Man and Batman counterparts? The only thing they have in common is they're both rich and they're both geniuses.
That's why they're counterparts.

Superman/ Gladiator JLA/ Avengers
1. Gladiator is just a Superman clone.
2. I already listed the second one
Mr. Fantastic and Plastic Man ? I always thought Mr Fantastic's Counterpart was Elongated Man. They both have strechy powers and there both married to a woman named Sue ?
- Superman/Hyperion-Sentry-Gladiator
- Batman/Nighthawk-Moonknight
- Wonder Woman/Power Princess-Thundra
- Flash/Whizzer-Quicksilver-Speed Demon
- Green Lantern/Dr. Spectrum-Quasar
- Aquaman/Amphibian-Sub-Mariner
- Green Arrow/ Golden Archer-Hawkeye
- Black Canary/Lady Lark
- Hawkman/Blue Eagle
- Zatanna/Arcanna
- Firestorm/Nuke
- Silver Sorceress/ Scarlet Witch
- Jack B. Quick/Quicksilver
- Blue Jay/Wasp
- Wandjina/Thor
- Lord Havok/Dr. Doom
- Dr.Diehard/Magneto
- Gorgon/Dr. Octopus
- Tracer/Sabretooth
- Dreamweaver/Dormammu
- The Legion Of Super-Heroes/The Imperial Guard
Yeah they are more similar than Electra and Catwoman are. There is a Joker clone in Marvel but idk his name and he hasn't shown up since the 70's or 80's. He runs a circus full of lunitic clowns . Turn there is the clown that fought the X-men and smoked cigars . His attitude was a lot like Lobo but of course they are not counter parts just have similar personality.

Thor and Wonder Woman have much more in common, both are the children of mythological gods who live among a race of immortals cut off from the human world. Both disobeyed their parents and traveled to the human world where they met and fell in love with mortals (Jane Foster and Steve Trevor) Both decided to stay in the mortal world and join superhero teams, Avengers/JLA. Both have gifts from gods, Thor has Mjolnir while WW has her lasso, armor, bracelets etc. Both are fierce warriors, hold honor above all else and find it difficult balancing their mortal lives and friendships with those of their homelands (Asgard/Themyscira)

We can also say Thor & Superman are people who come from other worlds, but have a desire to save and have a connection with humanity. They both have human loves, (Jane Foster & Lois Lane), human identities (Clark Kent & Donald Blake).
You can say that, but even those have stark differences. yes both come from different worlds, but Thor grew up on his world, he was raised on Asgard, learned Asgardian traditions, values and lifestyle. And gave it up to be with humans. Superman, while coming from a different world, was raised on Earth, he grew up human, he didn't even know about Krypton until he was a teenager. However if you look at Wonder Woman, once again, Like Thor, she was raised on Themyscira, learned Amazon traditions, values and lifestyle then gave it up to go be with the humans.@The Stegman said:

You say both Supes and Thor have human loves, well yeah, but as I mentioned so did Diana, and unlike WW and Thor, Lois is still apart of Clark's life. which brings up yet ANOTHER similarity between WW and Thor, both their loves were either reconned out of their current lives or moved on past them.
And finally, for the secret Identity party, I wouldn't call Clark Superman's human identity, if anything Clark is the REAL Superman, who he was raised to be, and the personality he actually normally has. However Thor only plays the part of Donald Blake, just as Wonder Woman plays the part of Diana Prince, both royalty acting as mortals.

Being retconned just has to do with writing
And Clark Kent at the end of the day is still a disguise.
@The Stegman said:
@Jnr6Lil: Recon or not, it's still something both characters have in common, and He was Clark Kent, long before he was Superman, however Thor was Thor, and continued to be Thor even as Donald Blake, same with Diana Prince and WW. the Fact is, Thor has more in common with Wonder Woman then he does with Superman.
We could say Supes is Kal-El who is the true Superman
"I am Clark, the man you love, Superman is the creation."
I think it was in issue 53 or so of "Superman"
@The Stegman said:
@Jnr6Lil: Um...no, he doesn't, Superman's Kryptonian genetics and a yellow sun give him his powers, Kal-El is nothing more than a name, the fact is, He was raised as Clark Kent, he identifies himself as Clark Kent, he likes baseball, Apple Pie, truth, justice and the American way, all the things instilled in him by being raised, as Clark Kent, these morals shape who Superman is, he had these morals long before he even knew his name was Kal-El and even before he knew he was an alien. He even states to Lois that, and I quote: "I am Clark, the man you love, Superman is the creation." I think it was in issue 53 or so of "Superman"
But Clark Kent the reporter isn't who he is.
Kal-El is his original true self though.

In X-Men # 107, a team of heroes called the Imperial Guard appeared. Many of their members, designed by former Legion artist Dave Cockrum, were based on Legionnaires: Astra (Phantom Girl), Electron (Cosmic Boy), Fang (Timber Wolf), Hobgoblin (Chameleon Boy), Impulse (Wildfire), Magic (Projectra), Mentor (Brainiac 5), Midget (Shrinking Violet), Nightside (Shadow Lass), Quasar (Star Boy), Smasher (Ultra Boy), Starbolt (Sun Boy), Tempest (Lightning Lad) and Titan (Colossal Boy). The team was led by Gladiator (Mon-El and Superman).
