Daniel Bruhl's Part May Have Been Revealed for Captain America: Civil War

Since Daniel Bruhl was announced as playing a villain in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War film, there's been a lot of speculation to who he will be playing, since Captain America has a pretty vast rogue's gallery. According to a casting call posted on MovieCastingCall.org, Bruhl will be playing Baron Zemo.

While the casting call doesn't say what other parts are open in this film, it does say, in the "starring" section that Daniel Bruhl is appearing as Baron Zemo. There's no info yet on which Baron Zemo Bruhl will be playing, or even if his role will be Zemo in the past or present, but we do know that it's a pretty obvious choice to go with one of Captain America's most infamous villains.

There has been no confirmation from Marvel or Marvel Studios as of this time. We'll get to see more of Bruhl hopefully as Zemo when Captain America: Civil War opens up on May 6th, 2016.

I called this the moment he was cast. FINALLY, Baron Zemo is going to show up!!!!!

Wonder if they'll go the Thunderbolts route with Helmut Zemo leading a pro-government task force, while secretly harboring his own grudge against Captain America due to what happened to his ancestor (as let's face it, Heinrich Zemo will probably have to be retconned to "grandfather" due to the age gap.)

To have Zemo involved been my dream for a Cap movie since the beginning. The only sad part is that his dad does not play the role in the movie universe that he did in the comics. He is not responsible for Bucky's 'death' and Steve's freezing. There is always that added emotion in the comics that they will need to work around in the movie.

I've been wanting to see the sword vs shield fight on the big screen for a long time.

I recommend you Inglorious Bastards and Rush, both great movies, in one you can see him as a soldier (sniper) for the Nazi, in the other he is Niki Lauda, he nails both performances.

I'm thinking Helmut. He doesn't have the feel of a high ranking Nazi scientist in the 1940s. Only time will tell though. Excited to see this character on the screen.

But isn't Iron Man sorta the bad guy in this one? I mean, based solely on the fact that this is considered a Captain America movie. Isn't the whole point of it that it's two conflicting good guys and their respective "teams" of super-whatevers? Why would their be a big villain in this? Unless this is going to just be one of those dumb "big misunderstanding between the heroes who then team up to take on the bad guy bad guy" scenarios like they always do in these situations?
