Captain America - true leader, stands for what America should be. Green Arrow - beacuse I like him. Batman - brilliant detective, expert fighter, and good with a Batarang.
Ms. Marvel - a former S.H.I.E.L.D agent with extraordinary power. Iron Man - ttech master with an invincible suit of armor.
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) - His power rely on Will, what could you ask more of in a warrior, plus Green is my favorite color. Thor - he's the God of Thunder, why wouldn't I add him?

Dick Grayson as Nightwing Co-Leader and tactician of my JLA. Also a member of my trinity representing non-meta heroes
Kara Zor-L, Power Girl Powerhouse and Co-Leader of my JLA, another member of my Trinity representing Metahumans.
Kyle Rayner, the true Greatest Lantern, Liason between the League and the Green Lantern core, an unshakable will and the moral compass of my League. The last member of my Trinity for having ultimate power and having the wisdom not to let it corrupt him.
J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter Because it's not really the Justice League without him. He's the father figure of the Justice League, the guy everyone confides in and trusts.
Wally West, The Flash The scarlet speeder, the fastest man alive, Wally West. The comedic relief and the tension breaker. Something I think JLU did really well is how humanizing Wally made the League, a very much needed trait.
Zatanna Zatarra Master of all things magical, Zatanna helps the league with all things magical and boring. Who doesn't want a cool card trick on your way to Alpha Centauri?
John Henry Irons, Steel The Technologist Supreme! If it's got a circuit he's got a way into it. He upgrades all of Watchtower's tech and deals with robotic menaces. And I want to say &%$# you Cyborg.
My team would have to consist atleast of 1 leader, one strong guy, one fast/nimble guy, one funny guy, one mean/savage guy, one energy shooter, one kid, one flyer, at least 3 females, one supersuperpowered guy and one smart guy.
So this is my team
the coolest smart guy-leader: Batman
the coolest muscle: Thing
the "coolest" joker/energy shooter: Iceman
The best mean guy there is: Wolverine
the coolest superpowered flying woman: Wonder Woman
My favorite: Psylocke
And the best kid sidekick relateble girl: Jubilee
The are the Releavers
There headquaters is the Releavers Tower in New York.
The team name is the sinister syndicate and there all just total BA the group formed because a unknown cosmic being wants to collide the sun with the earth and the rest of the solar system. He sent out a message saying that he has even destroyed whole universes. Also their headquarters is a chucke cheese
I divide the team into seven key roles (Leader, Brains, Strength, Combat Prowess, Espionage, Ranged Blaster, and Morale Compass). I also identify seven chief origins I would like to diversify across, so when the team finds themselves weak against a certain form of enemy, it is only 1-2 rather than all of them who are vulnerable (Alien, Magically Powered, Metahuman, Mutant, Nonpowered Human, Psionic Powered, and Technologically Advanced).
After a fair amount of thought, I have settled on the following, building the team to play to their strengths, but also to be filled with compelling characters I would enjoy reading:

Leader-Psionic: Judge Anderson
Brains-Tech: Lex Luthor
Brute-Magic: Tommy Czuchra "Monolith"
Scrapper-Alien: "Anytime" the Predator
Blaster-Meta: John Dusk
Espionage-Nonpowered: The Baroness
Moral Compass-Mutant: Elixir
With the collapse of the Phantom Zone releasing Kryptonian Criminals over Earth, ruled by Zod who begins to enslave humanity, Lex Luthor assembles a special strike force for the purpose of fighting back against the evil Kryptonian overlords.
Punisher- expert marksman (plus him and Batman can have a brooding contest)
Gambit- acrobat and infiltrator
Aquaman- someone on this team needs super strength and durability, and giant sharks are always helpful
Hellboy- occult knowledge, giant stone fist
Scarlet Spider (Kaine)- I actually don't know much about this guy, but from what I've seen of him in the "Best Battles of the Week" section he seems to be a more rough and tumble version of Spiderman, so what's not to love?
Base- Batcarrier, pretty much the Helicarrier but built by Wayne Enterprises for Batman
Origin- Evidently the Outsiders isn't a thing anymore since the New 52 reboot, so Batman decided to put together a new black ops team, but this time with intercompany reach.
Okay, so that's only six, but I think six is sufficient.
Batman- Intelligence/Martial Arts Expert/Detective/Team Leader
Wonder Woman- Powerhouse Kyle Rayner- Expert on space related matters/Another powerhouse/Favorite GL Wolverine- Loyal soldier/durable/Batman also partly recruits Wolvie to the team to keep an eye on him... make sure he doesn't go berserk and murder someone or something like that.
Spider-man- humor/pathos
Kitty Pryde- Tech expert/just a cool character that I like and would fit well with this team Emma Frost- Resident telepath/Plus I enjoy her banter with Kitty.
2 universes are suddenly thrown together. Some people from each of the universes are nowhere to be found, and these heroes band together to protect people amid the chaos. They are called the Uncanny Knights. Their battlecry is Batman yelling "Get to work!" They operate out of the X-Mansion/Batcave as the two became connected when the universes collided.
Roster: Ms. Marvel, Namor, Quasar(Wendell Vaughn), Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, Captain America and Hulk(This is my original team, and noone is getting cut)
Not considering power levels or story potential or personal favorites, but strictly which principles and values would be most necessary for heroes to embody, my team would be as follows:

Goodness and Moral Fortitude: Grant Morrison's Superman
With a larger roster, other values I'd represent would be 1) Intellectual Honesty, 2) Chivalry, and 3) Justice, but I was less sure as to who could best represent such. Even for my choices above I'm confident of only about half.
Marvel's grumpiest bad-asses, outcasts and lethal crime fighters met at a Rage-aholics Anonymous group and decided that - since some of them had already worked together over the years and could put up with each other well enough - they were sick of either being left out of the more hardcore group battles or being told off for killing murderous villains, even though that's what people appreciate them for.
Deciding then, that between them they had enough brains, brawns, magics, gadgets and abilities to take on just about any dark threat, they decided to form their own A-Team battling mega-crime, the (evil) paranormal and filthy alien scum!
I made a JSA that works here. It was Power Girl, Etrigan, Raven, Question, Starfire, Creeper, and Bleez. Their HQ was Blood Manor but they didn't have a motto.
I'm gonna throw my 7 1/2 cents in here and give you this team:
Daredevil: pretty much the moral compass of the team. Not so much the leader as guide.
Punisher: Doesn't every team need the wild man to keep in line? He's the prep/strategics for those involved missions.
Booster Gold: The man displaced in time with a bit of humor to go with a bit of power.
Blue Beetle (Ted): I can't break up this team. Also, tech support.
Black Widow: Super spy supreme.
Martian Manhunter: Gotta go pre-52, sorry, keeps team in touch and power for the bigger threats.
Silver Surfer: Not that more power is needed but he's the 7th on my favs list so he makes the team and is probably the best defense they have against magic although he's not magical himself.
Reserve member; Dr. Strange: for the serious mystical stuff.
Punisher encounters yet another alien invasion threatening Earth and gets Daredevil to put together a team, via his connections to the Avengers, to battle it (cause that's what the Punisher does, right?) DD contacts the Widow who informs DD the Avengers are away on one of those convenient missions, but she manages to pull this team together. Of course DD makes Frank stick around since it was his idea, natch.
Base of operations, starts in Matt's brownstone but quickly gets moved to one of Kords many versatile and secure warehouses. The reason this team works is there is just enough conflict between the members to keep things interesting, can you imagine Franks reaction when Blue and Gold short sheet his bed? The biggest thing is, I think, when the challenge is thrown, they all can step up to the plate.
"Lets get the job done 'and have some fun'"
Temped to make a color themed name here but I'll try to resist and go with the informal name of "Marve.....JLTa.......um.....The Tarnishers!"...........ouch.......I got it...."The Justice Knights!"
Origin: WW3 started when the major villains came together and formed the Enclave. Cap then had no choice but to create a team of highly trained killers and soldiers. This team is called the Secret Invaders.
