I'm sure most of you think it's a stupid question, but I was just curious, when Protege tried to become the new TOAA could it be possible he would of succeeded?
Would it be possible if everyone in the MU teamed up against him?
Omnipotence means "all-powerful." If an entity can be defeated, then he/she/it isn't omnipotent. So, no, the TOAA can't be defeated by any fictional character.
The entire Marvel universe would be blinked out of existence in an instant, including the Pre-Retcon Beyonder, Thanos with HOTU, Living Tribunal, and everyone else.
No.
if he ever is beaten then he quite simply isn't omnipotent. omnipotent's can't be beaten in any way.
pretty much as long as he's really the one above all he's unbeatable and if he loses he is no longer really the one above all.
@youmessinwithme: @kyrees: @johnnyz256: I thought that too, but when I looked up the Protege incident, it says Protege almost succeeded in becoming the new TOAA
@omnibeast: and yet LT and scathan stopped him and both are lower than TOAA. i'd say protege was exaggerating at that point.
@omnibeast: If someone murders the entire Marvel staff TOAA dies...
@omnibeast: If someone murders the entire Marvel staff TOAA dies...
True.
@omnibeast: If someone murders the entire Marvel staff TOAA dies...
You have to think a little bigger. If someone murdered the entire board and chairs of Disney and all the stockholders, then TOAA dies.
@slimj87d: Disney was never affiliated with Marvel... in our hearts... >_>
Of course TOAA can be beaten. Any comic book character can be defeated by any other comic book character because it's fiction and the writer has all power! A writer could have Shocker beat TOAA because he is in the control! /Rant inspired by Stan Lee/
Yes. Any fictional character can potentially beat or be beat by any other fictional character, it would just require willingness on an individuals part to do so. Now, we can get a bit technical and say that for some people, what is canon and official is more legitimate and valid and so as far as fictional characters who are owned by real life entities/businesses and so on, you might not be able to have a random fan fiction writer have a certain specific fictional character beaten, but that just limits an occurrence to those authorized to write such stories or give substance to such ideas. This applies as much to other conceptual fictional ideas, such as omnipotence.
They are ideas given substance and the why and how can depend and differ, and since this isn't always necessarily a science (creating writing) ideas and execution of ideas can contradict, conflict and coexist at the same time. There can be inconsistency. Its really more likely that the writer (Jim Valentino) of Protege was applying the term "TOAA" vastly different than how people see that "character" now days. TOAA is as much a meta idea in modern days as it is a fictional character, which is why we see that character so rarely and why Living Tribunal is usually referred to more in actual stories (as opposed to comic book message boards)
Also remember there is a very important different between the word and concept of could and the word and concept of would or should. Unless you place closed specific conditions on the question, it leaves the question extremely open ended. Additionally the concept and idea of ever makes it even more open. In 540 years time after World War III and IV Marvel might be owned by Neo China's WWE NWO faction and their head writer could be a cyborg clone of Michael Jackson who decides that the TOAA character should be actually defeated by Pop Eye. Ever is a long time. Wording wise might be more advantageous to ask whether its probable for TOAA to ever be beaten in a comic book.

Saint of Killers?
The only reason he was able to kill "God" was because his omnipotence was tied to the throne, TOAA isn't that nerfed/stupid. I hardly think he could even kill Luci Morning Star with those pistols of his.

NOBODY kills Lucifer!!! Not even the great Holy Terrier!!!
Only a being of equivalent power could oppose him, like The Presence (DC), Mother of Creation (Image) or Divine Spawn (Image).
Unless of course, the writers intervened....
@saint_wildcard: Toon force to strong!
@slimj87d: Disney was never affiliated with Marvel... in our hearts... >_>
Dude, Disney helped Marvel from going bankrupt. They're also planning future theme parks for our marvel heroes and they have promised to not tamper with the way Marvel wants to run themselves.
Usually, anything DIsney gets their hands on turns to gold. Pulp Fiction for example.
@slimj87d: you know what? You're right! That being said, if the new star wars isn't the number 1 movie for at least 10 years, I'll hate you for the rest of my life ^_^

Lol, well I'm going to bet they're better than episode 1 through 3. With JJ Abrams doing it.

You asked who can defeat an omnipotent being. I answered correctly now where's my price.
If someone can effect the writers hand they could potentially erase the concept of the one above all.Being omnipotent in a comic does not mean that the writer couldn't just write them out to be a non omnipotent being or just erase or ignore the very concept of that character.
@jwwprod: Wait I thought he was TOAA?
@saint_wildcard: Would you like a high five or a cookie?
If Disney goes out of business and Marvel comics go out of business then the one above all goes out of business. Defeated.
As for any comic book character or characters beating him....no, not going to happen.
