Could Bruce Wayne use his money and intellect to help society in other ways that would make the world a better place rather than it would with him using his money to be batman.
Could Bruce Wayne make better use of his money
Yes. Buying a nice new electric chair to kill all the criminals. Paying off the judges to do it. Problem solved. Then he could do gun buy backs, pay to get criminals off the streets, really clean up Gotham.
I would say help Gotham upgrade their police department , but then again it would be difficult for him to evade them as Batman
Make worthwhile contributions to science and technology by donating his inventions, then he can donate more to charity.
@knightfall225: of he upgraded them enough, he wouldn't have to be Batman theoretically
Obviously. But running around in a bat costume jumping on rooftops and beating up criminals goes with the characterization that Batman is a deeply disturbed and insane man at his core, which is one Im fond of.
What's interesting is that Superman actually called him out on this in BvS, and Bruce Wayne's response was basically "You're Wrong!" I think he knows it to, but it's just much too fun to play dress up.
Just about any philanthropy would be a better use of his money.
If he put the amount of money , time , dedication & perseverance that he does into beating ppl to a pulp he could probably cure cancer , aids & solve world hunger . There are ALOT other things he can do .
What's the point of catching criminals if Arkham has a revolving door? Better use Wayne money to make sure they got a nice comfy electric chair.
no i do not think he could because he is not just the protector of Gothom he is also a member of the justice league who prevent the destruction of the world routinely and would not be as an affective team without the Bats using is tactical mind to lead them in battle.
He has done plenty. The Wayne Foundation, Thomas Wayne Foundation and the Martha Wayne Foundation. Funds stuff from free health clinics, medical research, arts, education, orphanages and schools. He's a billionaire philanthropist who supports the police department and certain political causes and he fights crime as Batman.
@rev_sulphur: All just shell companies to funnel money through so people don't get suspicious of him and oust him as Batman. As admitted by Batman himself. Not only does he not do charity, he believes charity is a waste of time, as indicated in BvS. Even in New 52 the most charitable endeavor we are him taking is building some new buildings in Gotham and rearranging the architecture.
If he puts so many resources into Gotham's police and law system, how in the world can it still be insanely corrupt? Like, 20 times more corrupt than any real life police department in history.
@force_echo: Martha and Thomas Wayne Foundations have been well established before he became Batman along with many other companies under the Wayne Foundation umbrella who do good things. Even if Bruce thinks it's a waste of time it still happens. As for the police force, it's a comic book and the corrupt nature of the police force is part of the story.
