In Entertainment Weekly revealed their Comic-Con issue it states
'For his climactic rooftop brawl with Superman, Batman outfits himself with a reinforced mech-suit equipped with strength-augmenting armor and, yes, kryptonite.'

I always thought Snyder would have went a different route than using Kryptonite. I guess that explains why Superman was running towards Batman instead of flying towards him at Superspeed. I wonder how nerfed he is? That sucks...I was hoping Superman beats the hell out of Batman..

@cgoodness: its batman
since when does logic apply to him?
Hopefully they give a good explanation as to how Bats found out about Supes weakness
I remember Snyder said he originally planned to have Kryptonite shipped to the Wayne Manor as end scene of MoS.
Not to be mean, but MOS Superman is weaker that comic book Superman, i seriously dont see the need for Kryptonite in this.
Not only that, but taking is more easy to believe that created radiation based on the theory that Superman get his power from radiation, that for some reason a piece of Superman planet can kill him.
@deathpoolthet1000: because Batman is still human even if his depowered anyone who can survive A-10 bullets will need to be depowered if fighting a human.
Now people can shut up about it being unfair.

That has more weakness that comic book Superman.
Besides that they could explain other ways how to depower Superman.
so kryptonite does exist in DCEU..........
Now people can shut up about it being unfair.
And they can keep pretending that beating up a dude you just poisoned counts as an impressive victory.

yup officially trademarked DCEU "DC Extended Universe"

Uncreative, but necessary. Batman will always be fodder to superman without plot tilted towards him.
@deathpoolthet1000: they can but kryptonite is the easier route. I honestly thought Batman was going to weaponise Gotham but I don't mind kryptonite.
Can we change the title to The Dark Knight Returns? All we need now is Superman to be the bad guy, oh wait he already is.
@soldierofel: they already said The Dark Knight Returns inspirations are for the character Batman, not the plot.
Now people can shut up about it being unfair.
Nah, now the unfair argument would go in the opposite direction:
it doesn't seem to make much sense that Kryptonite would come up unless they spend some time establishing why Kryptonite would work against him. A part of me would assume that this would be Lex's doing.
In that same swing, since they're taking cues from Dark Knight Returns, it doesn't honestly surprise me, and having not been a fan of DKR, I'm not holding out much hope for liking this movie. My ONLY hope is that the movie puts the two in at least equal position as protagonists, rather than shifting the focus towards Batman and his inevitable triumph over Superman.
@soldierofel: they already said The Dark Knight Returns inspirations are for the character Batman, not the plot.
Which is still the worst story to take from because of it's demonisation of Superman. Seriously, I get that this isn't Superman sequel but it's not solely a batman film either. There are tons of better stories that they could've used to base the film off but, no, they had to choose a story that is notorious for it's put down of superman and even it's characterisation of Batman is off. From all the information that we are getting the film should be renamed The Dark Knight Returns and all Superman fans can wait for the infamous line that made TDKR so famous.
@soldierofel: Only Batman characteristics will be based on TDKR, the other aspects of the film has nothing to do with TDKR, Superman included.
Prolly got the kryptonite from lex if so I wonder if this will borrow some stuff from lex luthor man of steel comic
