Another week of the best of the from Comic Vine. Not a lot of stuff compared to previous weeks (missing wiki and RPG) but there was still a lot out there this. Let's have a look:
Undoubtedly the most impressive blog of the week (and project which I hadn't heard about until this week) was the Mighty Monarch's completion of the new 52 year in review after reading and reviewing nearly every DC comic released in the past year.
As the new 52 moves on some fans continue to grow weary of the changes and the absence or mistreatment of some of their favourite characters. This week Arnoldoaad had a look at some of the shortcomings for the younger DC characters. Petlover1112 also takes a look at what is missing from the new 52. What is it?
Then again, some fans miss things older than the pre-new 52. Pingclang looks back to the silver age for some heroic representations that he misses.
The end of Constantine is still making waves to its Vertigo fans. In his second entry this week Arnoldoaad goes into pretty good detail about what this cancellation means. Jonny_Anonymous takes a simpler route by collecting the opinions of some of the writers that had worked in Hellblazer as well as a few others.
I have heard the idea of a male sidekick for Wonder Woman occasionally over the years, but never one quite like what krspacet has put forward here. What do you all think?
Overseer asks what Hulk's role is within the Avengers and how good of a fit the character is for this team.
Xxxddd has been struggling through where to take his fan fiction but came up with a new direction for Hawkeye.
I wrote my own fan fic this week (it was nominated so this is not just all me promoting me). I feel bad for some characters I miss, and as Benjamin Disraeli said "whenever I want a good comic I write my own" (that is slightly paraphrased) so I bring back Miss Miracle, Voodoo, Soranik and Ya'Wara for a new team.
Artists and their Art
Blackmoonrose13 has been showing off a lot of his colouring tutorials this week. Here is one on colouring the Man of Steel in wardrobe change.
Ramsillustrations has redrawn a vintage Catwoman pose. Vintage is in these days and so is Catwoman, so win-win.
There was one pretty big list that came out this week, that was the Poet's Top 100 Superheroes of Comic Vine list for 2012. Most of you have probably seen it already, but that doesn't meant that Poet is not deserving of recognition for all his hard work. (follow the blog to the list :)
Another new list was from Bloodylocksbathory and highlights a few of the creepiest characters in the comic industry.
A pretty good respect thread for the Red Hulk courtesy of the Acid Skull.
Nickthedevil has created a going away tournament. Nice idea! (not him leaving) It is always nice to see a lot of community involvement.
This one had what I think was the cover of the week and while lot of people reviewed it, I went with drrenenija's detailed review of it.
HCH has a look at an indie title (Freelancers). Warning - youtube compatibility required.
Spotlight regular BumpyBoo thought she could sneak her reviews past me for consideration this week, but I see all and know all (there should be a thunder clap going along with that statement, I know) and her reviews of The Sandman Presents: The Thessaliad were definitely worthy of inclusion here (I linked a single review, find the rest through either the next one in the series or her profile).
Around the Vine
Ica has a new addition to her warm, furry and cuddly family, check out her blog to check out her new pet!
A lot of reviews for other stuff around CV that might interest some - Xanni15 continued with reviews of Once Upon a Time, CaioTrubat reviewed Dante's Inferno, Mbecks14 for Batman the Animated series, god_spawn for Tales of Symphonia, and JohnkMccubbin91 reviewed Justice League Doom (that last link isn't working, so I linked to the wiki page, scroll down for reviews ;)
