Comments you never say near comic book fans

There have always been statements that start a huge discussion or borderline arguments with comic fans like:

• Batman will always beat Superman
• Isn't the Nova Corps a ripoff of Green Lantern?

I was wondering what are some other ones people could come up with.

Batman sucks.

Superman can beat anybody.

What about: Why didn't Batman appear in the Avengers- he's the best one......

I hate those childish comics, they have no lasting value. Cartoons like family guy are way more mature and cool.

the movies are better than the comics because they are more mature and not kids stuff like the comics

it wouldn't annoy me at all if they said they like it better, I have friends who read mangá and they prefer it. It's okay. I would get pissed though if someone said mangá IS (as in, without a doubt, completelly factual and certified) better than comics and never had even touched one or said that just because it's one of those kids that read mangá and sees anime just to be cool and "nerdy hip"

My classmate once asked me if Bane from TDKR was Nick Fury from Avengers. That was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Someone else. I wouldn't be dumb enough to say this when there are obviously 4, well 5 now if you count Baz different human GLs in the comics.

@Lvenger: Yeah, but john stewart is the most recognizable black gl(outside comics).

@xxxddd: There isn't another black GL aside from John. And that's because of the Justice League cartoon. The major problem I had with people making that comment is that they thought that the film was being racist in that it was making Green Lantern white rather than black when they didn't know the film was about a different GL, Hal Jordan.

It wasn't being racist, it's just that Hal was the first(I still like John better, though).

@xxxddd: I know that's my point Us comic book fans know the film is about the first GL, non comic book readers think that GL is black, hence the annoyance

You know as well as I do that what happens in movies and tv shows has nothing to do with what happens in comicbooks.

so my brother and his girlfriend came over today for breakfast, me and my brother were talking about old comic books and had a few images open, one of them a picture of Batman #1, well my brothers girlfriend looked at the pics and tried to be "nerdy" by stating "oh this totally gotta be an old issue!" wondering if she has any knowledge of comics I simply asked "why?" ... to get the following answer:

"well you can see it's old cause 'Batman' is still spelled with a T instead of a D"
