Comic Vine's Top 100 Superheroes 2012 (Nominator step)

Hello All!

This year we've done Comic Vine's Top 100 Science Fiction and Fantasy Characters and Comic Vine's Top 100 Batman Universe Stories, which were fairly successful in showing the communities opinions if I do say so myself. Now, we'll do a challenge: Comic Vine's Top 100 Superheroes (2012 edition)

This year we will have a different but simplier set up than the previous superhero list:

• STEP ONE:Collect Nominators (We will have 22 total)
• STEP TWO:Nominators Nominate 5 characters each (110 total)
• STEP THREE:Community Nominations (≤100 total. Around 75?)
• STEP FOUR:Co-signs (Going on at the same time as STEP THREE, co-signing adds points to character totals to give an
• STEP FIVE:Initial Order: List ordered by total of points from cosigning (This is only a visual thing for users to see what the order would be before the final order vote. We will add the Final order vote to the cosign total
• STEP SIX:Final Order Voting (Each user will have 5 votes to move a character/some characters up on the list)
• STEP SEVEN:Tie breaking (If there are any ties, I will submit the names to the nominators and it will be fixed. This will not effect the order of the list)

List Status:STEP TWO: Nominators Nominate 5 characters each (110 total)

Explanation of Step (PLEASE READ:) The nominatiors (below) will nominate 5 characters each

• 3 Characters of your choosing (I like to call these "Wild Cards")
• A Character that isn't a "Cape" (I'm talking characters other than Superman and Batman who you think of after the usual suspects)
• An Indie Character (a character published Dynamite, Image, Vertigo Boom! IDW, etc.)

Remember, if you are not part of the nominators, you can still nominate in the community nominations...

Remember that even if you don't get to be one of the initial 20, you can still nominate characters afterwards in STEP THREE. I look forward to seeing what the 2012 list will look like...Huzzah!

@The Poet: Can you further clarify on the "No Capes" nomination though, like give me an example or two? That's causing a little confusion for me.

@The_Tree: "Not a cape" is my catagory for Punisher, Hellblazer, Hitman, Swamp Thing and you know...all those other characters who aren't "superheroes" as in the guy in the red cape who flies around, but a superhero in philosophy.

Quick question, do the heroes have to be from the comic book median? e.g. Television of Video Games?

@Monarch_Chronicle: Well, appearance wise it has to have an appearance in some sort of comic...in other words it has to have a page here on CV or else I can't add it to the list. That's my only requirement...

If we did it would really show reward to good writing, fundementals, and taking risks. but we will see how this whole thing plays out :P

you mean next list? remember there are a lot of community spots in this list because the nominators only nominate 100. I like to do a runnder up list so I want like 75-100 more characters, so keep in mind what characters you would nominate and we'll see what's what in a week...

Instead of kicking off Revamp like he suggested when we were planning we will act like none of the above comments happened and I will offer you a place as a nominator to make it 22 users just like last year, but this time everyone has 5 characters...and an inital 110 instead of 140...

So...yeah...like I was saying...
