Comic Vine's Top 100 Science Fiction and Fantasy Characters

Hello. I don't believe I have spoken to you before...I'm The Poet. I'm also The Host of this list.
You are correct in saying that Star Wars can be defined as a "Science Fantasy". However, you realize Sci Fantasy (to quote Wikipedia) is :
a mixed genre within speculative fiction drawing elements from both science fiction and fantasy.
this means, Star Wars qualifies in some aspects for both Science fiction and Fantasy. Science Fantasy is a fused genre--two genres in one! So, I'm sorry sir or madam, but I don't see how Star Wars does not qualify for Science Fiction or Fantasy nor do I see why it should not be on the list...
@Renee: which would you say are superheroes? Just curious...we have tried to keep them off the list, I have allowed some exceptions...
Added
If you mean cosigns, you can cosign up to 188 (currently)--meaning you COULD cosign every single one of the characters, but I don't know why you would want to...
New Recommendation:
American McGee's Alice (based on Alice In Wonderland)
It's an unique take on the character. Forget about Alice: Madness Returns, the recent second release. This is an original take on the goth version of the character. She can leap several stories' height, which makes her seem more haunted then agile. A lot of the arcade elements absently supported the build for the character (the jump mechanic.) Till this day, to me, the best dark portrayal of Alice is an Alice who fights like a superhuman with her classic kitchen knife. P.S A lot of people thought Tim Burton was going to adapt American McGee's Alice into his Alice In Wonderland movie.
@Deadite: Now, we have a problem. That game techically hasn't had a comic (unless I'm mistaken...), so that particular Alice doesn't have a page (again, unless I'm mistaken...). So, I can't actully add her to the list.
I could add Alice the public domain character, but up to you...

Oopse, I didn't know it has to have a page, here. Then no, it's unnecessary to add the classic version into the roster, to me at least.
@Deadite: yeah, I need pages so I can add characters to the CV list when I make it...
@Mercy_: yep. no limit. It's my way of appeasing to the users who demand more than 5 votes in the Final Order Vote (which will happen next week). Of course, 1 cosign = 1pt while 1 Final Order Vote = 5pts.
My sentences for the characters:
9. Boba Fett: Probably the greatest Sci-Fi bounty hunter of all time, Boba Fett should be on this list just solely because of how many people in our world commonly know George Lucas' Star Wars Franchise and respect the original characters. Boba is a unique character, sometimes he's a coldhearted killer, but other times he shows sympathy for a character that might be going through a trauma that resembles his own. As Boba has been portrayed in many different ways over the years, one thing is for certain, Boba Fett is the most household Sci-Fi name of our time and if anyone on this list should be on it, Boba should!
10 Buck Rogers: The original Sci-Fi adventurer, Buck Rogers is one of the first characters to be written science fictionally and has inspired many other writers to help shape the Sci-Fi category that we know and love today. His classic do-or-die attitude has really made him a memorable character. However like I said before, Buck should be nominated to this list just because of the fact that he was one of the original innovators of the Sci-Fi category, and that much of his comic book and radio appearances has inspired many of the movies, TV and comic books we have currently.
16. Chewbacca: Everybody loves Han Solo's pet/partner right? Unlike Bumblebee and Sam Witwicky in the Transformers films, Chewbacca is more of a partner than a pet. Chewbacca should be nominated to this list because he is a smart and cunning partner of Han Solo and he is one of the greatest Sci-Fi heroes of all time, plus he pulls off arms!
73 Princess Leia: Princess Leia is the Sci-Fi version of Wonder Woman. Though Sci-Fi women were portrayed differently in the early to mid 1900s, Princess Leia really showed the strong and leadership characteristics of women. Leia has really given women a leg up in the Sci-Fi category, showing ALL female characters in the category that they do not always have to be written as the character in need of rescuing, if anything Leia is the exact opposite of damsel in distress, making her a great add to this list.
79 Robocop: The future of mankind! Robocop should be nominated to this list just because of the fact that the writers created this character to represent a not-to-distant future of a police fighting force or just humans in general. While many characters like Boba Fett or even Buck Rogers could never happen in the real world, Robocop really could be created in the real world, since he is a combination of man and technology.
thanks again poet for the chance to participate in your list!!!
Agent Smith
Bilbo Baggins

Some more nominations if I may...
1. Lieutenant Gullivar Jones: Let's be honest...Gullivar Jones was the Warlord of Mars before John Carter was even conceptualized and was instrumental in helping Edgar Rice Burroughs find inspiration for the famed series we now come to adore and love. For all intensive purposes Jones was the archetypal hero of the "sword and planet" sub-genre that would give rise to later series. While John Carter may be the father of modern fiction and sword and planet sci-fi, Gullivar Jones is its grandfather.
2. The Starchild: "My God...its full of stars!" Anyone who has an inkling of knowledge about science fiction will know this character and pay homage to the famous line that Commander David Bowman uttered prior to being taken into a pathway of the Monolith and surging to light speeds and infinity. Not only was he the prime opponent to HAL-9000 when the supercomputer went mad, but he became something more upon contact with the Monolith and is a reminder to mankind that death is but a gateway to a higher level of existence.
@RazzaTazz: I'm not sure what I'm going to do about Adam Strange or Soranik...I need to think about it...I didn't want to include superheroes because they have the hero list of last year (maybe we'll make a new one for this year...)
I'll add that characters and ones nominated by @RedheadedAtrocitus: soon....

I wondered when a math person would make that joke :P
added all the cosigns.
I can add Ford to the list if you want me to, though I would ask for nomination reasons...
I feel like many people missed Godzilla on the list >_> that or i just have him in higher respects than most people... LOL
@nickthedevil: I have respect for him I just believe King Ghidorah was a revolutionary monster. He is the reason for all the space kaiju. He is referenced as much as Godzilla in other media(making a few appearances in Courage the Cowardly Dog). Also him appearing as a monster from the future and a guardian of Japan did put an interesting twist on the monster. This is my personal opinion though.
And the Polls for the Final Order Vote are now open! Each user has 5 votes, so use them wisely! Voting ends the 17th
