Poll Comic Book Question of the Week VOTING: Favorite Valiant Book (154 votes)

Archer & Armstrong 12%
Bloodshot 12%
Harbinger 25%
Shadowman 9%
Quantum and Woody 17%
X-O Manowar 26%

The Big Two are pretty busy with new big events and all that, so we thought we'd give the other publishers some love over the next few weeks in this segment. Week after week, we're going to ask you what your favorite book from various publishers are (Marvel and DC aside, of course). This way, you can happily cheerlead for your favorite title and tell the world why it's worth their money. And, if you're not reading anything from the publisher, reading the posts could serve as a great way to see if anything grabs your interest and -- dare I say it -- tempt you to pick up something totally new! The Big Two have a plethora of books we love, but there's plenty of other fantastic titles out there just waiting to be read as well. Hopefully, this will motivate some of you out there to step outside your comfort zone just a wee bit and jump into something new.

This week, we're diving into a publisher many of us here at Comic Vine adore a good deal: Valiant. The publisher has been gradually expanding since its reboot in 2012, already having their first big event (HARBINGER WARS) and are bringing two new titles our way (ETERNAL WARRIOR and UNITY). But we're wondering what's your favorite title from Valiant? Cast your vote and share in the comments below why the title earned your admiration.

That's like asking which of your children that you prefer. Love them all, but if I had to rank them now, it'd be

  1. Harbinger
  2. X-O Manowar
  3. Bloodshot
  4. Shadowman

Quantum and Woody is too early to judge but it has been good so far.

I have not picked up A&A yet but plan on doing so shortly. I will be following Eternal Warrior and Unity from launch though.

My DC pulls have suffered greatly because of the excellent work the creators at Valiant have been releasing.

I voted for X-O Manowar, but if I could vote for more than one I'd have also voted for Archer & Armstrong, Harbinger, and Shadowman.

I'm not kidding when I say that love all of the Valiant books. They're all action packed and fun to read. Having interesting characters and stories along with great art. Valiant is seriously, IMO , next to DC and Marvel.

Although I had to choose one, I love each title. I am able to buy this and my Marvel, Image and D.C. because of the 40% discount I receive from www.dcbservice.com. Although I get my books once a month, it affords me the opportunity to get as many books as possible with my limited, self-imposed allowance.

Shadowman is a bit disappointing, but every other Valiant title is gold! I picked Archer & Armstrong. The story is great, it's paced really well, and stitches together enough crazy conspiracy theories to be a real wild ride! The art is fantastic as well!

1: Harbinger

2: Archer and Armstrong

3: Bloodshot

4: XO Manowar

5: Shadowman

Can't comment on quantum and woody as i haven't read any yet... waiting for the TPB.

1. Harbinger, easily, a fantastic read.

2. Bloodshot, simple but well done.

3. XO Manowar, I honestly don't like this series. I've read like 9 issues and jsut don't like it.

4. Shadowman. Meh.

I'm really diggin' X-O Manowar! Quantum & Woody would be my runner up but it is a little too early for me to call it my favorite. Looking forward to Unity!

25 years of collecting mostly Marvel and DC, I've dropped all titles from those companies, because they aren't telling quality stories like Valiant! Harbinger is my favorite, amazing characters and intense storytelling. Archer and Armstrong is second, great humor and interesting conspiracies. All the books are great and can't wait for more!

Dat action is just too good.

Harbinger is by far the best book but I'm honestly not being hyperbolic when I say all the books are brilliant, they really are. If one of the books catches your eye and you think you'll like it just jump on in, there really isn't a bad book amongst them.

I think a Ninjak title would be pretty awesome. We'll get more of him in Unity, but stand alone would be pretty cool too. Any thoughts?

Agreed. Ninjak is awesome and he's got a very loner feel to him so a team book doesn't quite fit him in my opinion. Although I'm sure Unity will still be good.

Yeah he does seem a little out of place because of his loner tendencies, but could make for some interesting stories where Ninjak has his own agenda...the long con sort of thing.

I vote X-O Manowar, solely because it's the only one I'm reading.

But I do plan on picking up Unity. And Ninjak, whenever that happens.

@k4tzm4n: @swagner017: @decoyelite: Swore I heard that Valiant were planning a Ninjak ongoing, no?

I was incorrect about that one back then. Their FCBD issue had a splash page of Ninjak with a name tag, but it's my understanding that was just their way of promoting the character. Apologies. In due time, though? I wouldn't be surprised.

There are tough questions and then there are TOUGH questions. This is a loaded TOUGH question. All their titles are very good. I voted X-O as favorite, but if Quantum and Woody can maintain the level of humor in the first two issues, I think it will become my favorite.

How about some love for posters on here who already started a thread like this a while back? Where was your love then? :p

Anyway, my answer is the same as before: X-O, baby. V-ditti has created a sprawling sci fi epic that spans the centuries with our hero, Aric of Dacia. And the main artist on the title, Cary Nord, is truly a man among boys. His work is just spectacular. It's also the flagship title of the Valiant universe.

They're all good, with X-O, Harby, Quantum & Woody, and the first 10 issues of Bloodshot being great. These ones I've just mentioned can go toe to toe with any comic from the big 2, they're that good and you better believe it. Valiant is going to continue to take comic readers by storm with Unity. Love Valiant. My favorite publisher by far.

@onemoreposter: bah! That's a poor excuse. Go out and pick up one of the many Valiant issues out there. There's digital comics now so there's no excuse not to give it a try.

Go on then, what are you waiting for?!

Shadowman started out interesting, but quickly lost steam. I can't really get into X-O, to be honest. The title that I do really enjoy is Bloodshot though, a little uneven at times, but always entertaining. Looking forward to Unity.

Quantum and Woody for sure. It's probably the most fun I have with any book that I read.

I thought Shadowman started out really strongly, but it quickly started to drop in quality. and the Darque thing has been going on way too long.
