For those who haven't heard, Samurai Jack and Powerpuff Girls are getting comic books.

Long time no see...

While there are no known plans for how long these series will last, it does bring up a big question: Are comics legitimate ways to continue cancelled tv shows/movies?

Great comic for an even better movie...

I haven't read many comics based on tv/movie properties, but those I have read are more of expansions of the universe than continuation of stories.

WHY WAS THIS CANCELLED?!?!
WHY WAS THIS CANCELLED?!?!

I think comics could do a great job, especially for hardcore fans who want closure for their unfinished shows. For example, I have been watching a show called Sym-Bionic Titan. It was cancelled after 1 season, even though it was awesome. I think a comic series could greatly expand the universe as well as finish the stories.
