I dunno a Moon Knight game sounds exactly like the many Batman games, almost thought Tony was trolling with that one.
The other two ideas sound awesome, especially something like an X institute rpg. I would love to see a game like that.
I'm pretty sure most high profile comic book characters deserve a game. When I think about the next game, I think about what game mechanics can be implemented instead of thinking which character could be used next. The problem is finding a studio like RockSteady. The other problem is fitting a video game genre and game mechanics with the character.
When you watch and hear RockSteady's developer interviews/videos you can see that their passion about Batman shines through. They took the essence of Batman and made that the focus (stealth and combat). Others, they didn't focus as much but it was still relatively satisfying. An example was the detective side during the main story, the Riddler challenges made up for it and it was great. Can't be too many things at once, might as well just focus on being great on a few things then spread out too thin (like single player vs. multiplayer).
Thor could've been a great God of War-esque game. Captain America could've been a great Batman clone. It's just that none of the head studios (Marvel) wanted to invest much into it, just they wanted it to coincide with the movie hype. Arkham Asylum released a year later after The Dark Knight.
A Superman game perplexes me. As much as I want it, what genre would it fit in? what are the game mechanics? Iron Man as a flying and combat game was horrible.
I'm still trying to figure out what Warner Brothers and DC asked of RockSteady to make such a successful game. It's finding that studio to give that game and character justice.
Edit: Unfinished thought.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Cyborg more than anyone should have a game, he seems like the type of character who would work well in a game, plus as a bonus, he'll begin to build a fan base, and we can finally have a Cyborg solo series.
Also, Green Lantern would be really great in a moba type game. Chose a different Lantern core to join, and have a human lantern teach you. Hal for green, Guy for red, John for Indigo, Kyle for Blue, Baz for Yellow, Carol for Violet, and of course Larfleeze for Orange (he's not human, but he would still work).
I think flight mechanics is what holding back superhero video games. So many fan favorites can fly yet flying combat is really tricky to get right. When you're playing grounded characters like Batman and Spiderman all you have to worry about left, right, and side to side but you're still on the ground. While when you're playing flying characters like Superman or Ironman you have an all around 360.
If they did a Moon Knight game with little to no stealth, moral decisions, supernatural enemies, actual detective work, and a noire-type of theme would be great. A Taskmaster Hack N Slash would be really good; You start off with little moves and when you beat bosses or high end enemies you gain some of their fighting style as moves to add to your library. It would make me like it even more if it limited x amount of moves (theres a cap on how many skills/moves/combos you can do at a time) to fit his amnesia in the comics.
invincible.
Fantastic Four
The Boys. (But make it really gore)
He-Man
Silver Surfer
a Superior Foes or Sinister Six game.
Firstly, Green Arrow deserves his own game. They could make it contemporary by making him more like the current Lemire G.A with elements from the show thrown, but also hearkening back to the classic G.A, so essentially it's own universe like the Arkham games. I would have it be a bit like the Arkham games in terms of Easter eggs, villain designs and the combat system with a few tweaks( G.A is not as good as Bats hand to hand so making his bow good in free flow whilst being unable to take the damage that Bats does). There should be rpg elements like helping to create your own trick arrow variants ( freeze umbrella arrow anyone?). The customization of Green Arrow's arsenal can add some great ingenuity and replayability to the game.
Someone else who deserves his own game is Nightwing...nuff said.
Lastly maybe a decent 2.5D Metroidvania esque comic book game that doesn't blow ?
Oh and let's not forget the ladies. A Batgirl Cassandra Cain type game with the combat of Bayonetta anyone ?
Lastly, Wonder Woman.... she can have a God of War type game so easily I mean Greek mythology with modern sensibilities with a more refined combat system than God of War ???? No ?
A Mass Effect style Guardians of the Galaxy game. You would start as Star Lord on his ship and have to travel around the universe recruiting different members like Groot, Rocket, Gamora, Bug ect each with different powers and you would level up and add a different elements to his guns. You could fight different enemies like the Annihilation Wave, Phalanx, Skrulls ect.
An Iron Fist style fighting game like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. Set in the Seven Heavenly Cities and you could have characters like Steel Serpent, The Thunderer, Fat Cobra, Luke Cage, Dog Brother, Misty Knight ect

If you took the last Tomb Raider game and gave her a green hood it would be exactly the same as a Green Arrow game. Set on The Island fighting drug runners and arms dealers using the surroundings to create a bow and different types of arrows and hunting wildlife to survive.
@jonny_anonymous: I hear that about the Tomb Raider esque survival sections on the island, but it would need more jingoistic kung foolery and superheroyness. Love your Mass Effect GOTG game.

Question....why Baz for yellow? He doesn't have any ties to the Sinestro Corps or anything at all. Just seems kinda random to me...
I think you could just keep it straightforward and have Hal/Kilowog train Green, Saint Walker for Blue, Atrocitus for Red, Sinestro for, well, Sinestro, Indigo-1 or Munk for indigo and then yeah Carol and Larfleeze works fine.
@j4zzm4n88: Well Tomb Raider did have a chinese death goddess and giant walking statues
@j4zzm4n88: I would definitely play that Wonder Woman game!
thats a cool x-men idea. for other games, many characters could use a batman style with features built upon it pertaining to their character. i would love a game that plays similar to batman but you see the world through daredevils senses.
Already had the X-men game, X-men: Destiny. Wasn't half bad. A Moon Knight Game would rock though if you throw in some supernatural elements as well like Werewolf by night, zombies, Blade, etc. A daredevil game would be pretty interesting, using his abilities would be like an enhanced detective mode from the Arkham games. Spidey has had some decent games lately, and I wouldn't mind another Wolverine game along the lines of the X-men Origins game, but comic based or something.
The Batman Arkham games are pretty much perfect so yes Tony we have Batman games.
A Green Arrow game set in the "Arrow" continuity would be cool, with levels in the present and in the past on the Island. A Wonder Woman game would be SERIOUSLY badass!! Have it be all Greek mythology with only cameos by Steve Trevor and any other non Amazonian cast. Green Lantern would be great, the movie tie-in game had potential but lacked substance.
@lcazt1996: I just think Baz would work well for yellow because his character is wrapped in fear. In video games they often make changes to cannon from source material to better fit the story of the game. I just think it would be interesting to have the human as a teacher, and save other key members of each core for different events.

I was going to say the same thing, Moonnight will turn out to be marvel's response to the Arkham games and Black widow can be his Catwoman addon .
I think there should be an ambush bug game with him teaming up with the Hekler, Dumb Bunny, G'nort & Bat-Mite

Idunno, I think that because of the fact that Baz hasn't even ever interacted with the Sinestro Corps...means that it wouldn't be a small change to cannon, it'd be absolutely nothing similar to the comics.
I'm not saying it's an awful idea...I'm just saying that it's pretty questionable.
suicide squad game would be awesome
The flash
Black Panther
Ms. Marvel
Ironfist & Luke cage game
These!^
I'll add Lobo and the Rogues
How about a strategy-type game where you play as a villain like Lex Luthor and try to set up a "heist" or other such diabolical plan and see if you can outwit the hero that comes to thwart your plan? How many times have we seen a villain's plan play out only for them to forget one crucial detail and you say to yourself "Man I wouldn't have overlooked something so simple!" Well, a game like this would give you the opportunity to do such a thing. Kind of a game like Overlord or something and the hero that you're up against could be randomized (in either the DC or Marvel universes).
@lcazt1996: I get that, but like I said, it's only a pitch for a hypothetical game, so I figured I'd take some creative liberties. Plus, Baz is at a bit of a disadvantage, having not been around for very long, so I figured that would work for him.
@dedpool: That X-Men game is the one I sorta was referring to in the vid. I wrote my article back before the game was announced. I haven't played it since it just looked okay to me so I'm not sure how much building of your character it involved.
WHOA! I'm getting a direct response. I feel super especial!! LOL SO wait did you write this like 2 years ago then? Cause the game is old now. My friend liked it a bit and it's pretty involved to a point. You're given one of three characters and then you basically build their powers as you level up.
I'd really like another Ultimate Alliance type game from Marvel, or even a better one from DC than the JL one they put out.
I'd LOVE a Moon Knight game. Most people say something along the lines of the Batman games, but I would personally prefer a simpler style like Mark of the Ninja. I think that would be cool :)
I'd also like to see a good X-Men game. Something like Mass Effect would be a great, with a small team going on missions, though you'd have to incorporate martial arts into the action.
Where are the computer game Moon Knight and Bushman pics from? Anybody?
I was just about to ask the same thing. My guess would be the Moon Knight Pinball FX 2 table.
@dedpool: I wrote my X-Men thing in 2010.

Yeah, I just did a google search and that image came up. Same with this one:
I'd love a Daredevil game where you not only play as DD, but also as Matt Murdock.
Like, you get a client and have to help them, either as Matt or DD and you could use your enhanced senses, to hear the heart beats of others, to tell if they're lying or not.
There's a free download game, called "Devil's Tuning Fork" where everything is black and you can only "see" by making a sound and orient yourself by the vibrations of it. (but I would that make a "special skill" which isn't always used, because I got headaches from it)
@g_man: Great topic Tony! I'm not sure if you played these games but DC Universe Online does cover the make your own character and chose your own mentor and build your character up with RPG elements. Marvel Heroes does a similar thing but the only difference that you actual play with Marvel characters. I'm not sure you remember when Moon Knight #1 came out, I commented on your facebook with video footage of Moon Knight gameplay from Marvel Heroes. These games are really fun and they are doing it really well for superhero games. So, it does satisfy our dreams a bit. They just only focus on a global scale instead character focus meaning it's events story based. So, it's a good thing you discussed this because we need more character base games like Batman: Arkham and Amazing Spider-Man has been looking good lately too.
