Classic Hollywood Actors who could play superheroes
I do agree with a lot of people when they say Vincent Price would be great as Doctor Strange.
Clint Walker would be great as Superman but I don't know about him playing Clark Kent, if that makes sense to anyone.
Jeffrey Hunter = Reed Richards.
Susan Oliver = Sue Storm.
Neville Brand = Ben Grimm.
Kurt Russell = Johnny Storm.
Christopher Lee = Dr. Doom.
@StrangerXL:
I totally agree; Sally Field is the Wasp. I also like Raquel Welch as the Black Widow. Here are some more from me: Steve Reeves as Hercules (Marvel - naturaly, especially since this is the person Jack Kirby based his version on), Ann-Margaret as Crystal, Sophia Loren as Umar, Elizabrth Montgomery as the Invisible Woman and Stephanie Powers as Phoenix/Jean Grey.
Good calls. Here are my takes for Sophia Loren and Ann-Margaret.
Sophia Loren = my choice for Golden Age Wonder Woman.
Ann Margaret is my choice as Jean Grey/Marvel Girl.
@ Chaos Prime:
I've got Kirk Douglas as my choice as the Doom Patrol's Cliff Steele/Robot Man.
Another good call. Here is someone else Heston could have pulled off as far as looks go.
@ Moomin123 :
I think this character would have been a better fit for Errol Flynn than Hal Jordan.
Nice call.
@PowerHerc:
Thanks. Some good calls on your last go around. The Elizabeth Taylor head shot you used made me think of her as Black Widow first appearance version.
With longer hair of course, Ron Ely = Thor.
With full on beard and eye patch, George C. Scott = Odin.
A very young Basil Rathbone = Loki.
Jane Russell = Sif.
Ty Hardin = Fandral the Dashing. He also would be a good Green Arrow.
Orson Wells = Volstagg the Enormous.
Toshiro Mifune = Hogun the Grim.
Stella Stevens = Amora the Enchantress.
Thanks. Besides being a comic book junkie, I'm also somewhat of a movie junkie as well, especially the old school classics.
A no-brainer : Jim Brown = Luke Cage Classic.
Bernie Casey = Brother Voodoo.
Dorian Harewood = Black Lightning.
Dolph Lundgren could never have played Captain America, not with that accent. There's only one Marvel hero Dolph could have played (besides the Punisher of course), and that's the Mighty Thor. I mean just look at him in all his He-Man glory -

I mean if that's not Thor material, I don't know what is.
Back to classical actors, I'd say Charlton Heston for either Aquaman (DC) or Captain America (Marvel), Gregory Peck for Superman and, while I know he came in at a time when most classic actors were on their way out. I do believe Timothy Dalton would have been good as either Batman/Bruce Wayne, Dr. Strange or Mr. Sinister.
Here are a few more: Bo Derek as Shanna, Liz Taylor as Sersi, Jayne Mansfield as Black Canary (Golden Age), Marilyn Monroe as Venus (Golden Age), Raquel Welch as Satana, Tina Louise as Mera, Gina Lollobrigida as Gamora, Jane Russell as Phantom Lady, Brigitte Bardot as Amora the Enchantress and Jane Seymour as the Black Widow (Natasha)
my my my these women almost make me wish i was alive back then
@JediXMan: Didnt think about that, he'd be a good fit for Lex. It's just that I hate seeing Lex in movies now since he's been in every Superman movie xPI agree with that. I don't want to see any more of Lex, either; I want Brainiac. But I still think Yul Brynner would make a good Lex.
