I don't know about it causing me to not take a character seriously, but there are a lot of Storm fans on the site. I guess the overexposure could equate to a bad taste like many have for Wolverine.
I don't have an answer on this cos i think I'm mature enough not to be affected and dislike a character just because of a viner/s. I've met enthusiastic fans too from other characters but I don't feel the "need" not to take their fave characters seriously. It's not really what others say but what you do and how you react to it.

In short, I don't have that kind of attitude.
Eh, it's not really dislike. It's just that at a certain point a character becomes silly for various reasons.
For me Storm is because of the insane whirlwind of crap surrounding her(not just her fans, but some of the more insane stuff in comics)
And Croc because of how much of a joke writers have made him in combat.
I could say Lobo. He's put in fights that are often times a stomp in his favor, and trying to debate his healing factor is like talking to a brick wall. Storm is an obvious choice, just because of her 'raindrops'.
Comicvine has never really ruined a character for me. There are several characters who have fanboys I can't stand but I have issue with the fanboys not the character. I'm more disappointed by how some characters are written.
Almost to the point where I wish they would just kill her off. Then we would have to endure threads like "GODDESSES CAN'T DIE SHE WILL RETURN", "R.I.P STORM", "PETITION TO BRING STORM BACK", "THE UNITED RAINDROPS ASSOCIATION FOR STORM vs. MARVEL" and so on.

You post history is full of instances where you've gone in threads and dropped the F bomb for absolutely no reason. I don't know if that's how you talk or whatever the case maybe but i'm warning you..don't do it again. You've done this enough where you should have been warned several times by now. Watch your language.
@afgossett: Language, mate. Sure, CV is the only WM site that monitors language, and that's just ridiculous, but it's a rule. A dumb rule, but oh well.
