Characters that seem to have been erased by the New 52

I'd like people to start pointing out who is gone from the new universe and Earth 2. I can think of four right off the top of my head, but please point out to me if I'm wrong on any I list.

Lian Harper, daughter of Roy Harper.

Jai and Iris West, Wally West's kids

Helena Kyle, daughter of Catwoman (check out this website to see scans that show why I'm pissed about this one being gone (especially when it comes to Batman (http://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/224117.html))).

So, what other characters seem to have been for now deleted from the DC universe?

In some ways I'm good with that. They went overboard with the legacy thing to my personal taste.

I hate how they changed it so that it wasn't his wife he was obsessed over and just a delusion.

I hate it too but it makes more sense now for when he gets sent to Arkham

I don't know how much more clear he can be. Even if you don't agree I honestly don't see how you're not getting what he's saying. He knows the names have shown up. He's saying that because of changes they are no longer the same character and are now different character sharing the same name.

I've read every issue of that series and it's a glorified cameo. They've done hardly any exploring of the character and combining her appearances amount to a couple of issues of an origin story.

Also calm down.

There is still hope. If you're talking about the YJ one that is. She showed up alive at the end of TT and they could always do what they appear to be doing with Beast Boy and trying to fix the mistakes of the past.

You could be talking about the WW character. In that case never mind.

Especially considering the thread is about characters that have seeminfly been erased in the new 52. So idk whats so hard to understand for you.

You're still not getting it. To him these characters have been erased and been replaced with something else.

That's fine. IIRC WW's Artemis has been around longer so it's easy to assume people would know.

I'll take the flag. I stand by my belief that a character is more than a name. I'm not the only one who believes this. Even though we differ on which character and for the record posting a name isn't really complaining.

The discussion is what character seems to be erased. That is what we believe we are discussing despite you not agreeing. Like I said I'll take the flag even if a mod agree's with you. If not you'll be getting it IIRC how that works.

They showed up in Grant Morrison's Action Comics series and had their own comic though it did get cancelled.

@dernman: You know, I have always thought it was pre-52 but I could be wrong. Regardless, it was a great series.

Honestly the New 52 could have done him worse. He's gotten off alright compared to other characters.

I can agree with that in some ways, but I also feel that some of the legacy characters gave other characters more depth to them. It's often been pointed out that Lian gave Roy a unique position in the DC universe as a single father and it was nice to see the two together. And Batman's interaction with Catwoman's daughter summed up his character perfectly:

it was tied for being the first Miniseries of the New52
