Okay, there is a 23 Day Rule in Death Note. That means the Death Note can only operate within 23 Days. But, do you think its possible too fool the 23 Day Rule with a trick?
Can you trick the 23 Day Rule?
aside from keeping your real name hidden, you can't escape the 23 day rule.
but if you would write for example: john ___ dies 23 days after l lawliet catched him, he would die AFTER l lawliet catched him. But if he could kill l lawliet before he catch him, would that means the 23 day rule wouldn't work then?
@darkhunter89: why would you write an annoying requirement like that when you have a death note ?

it's just an example
@darkhunter89: i'm looking at it at two points: as the person who owns the death note and as the person who gets written to it. the former is bounded by the 23 day rule that any action must be done within that time period or it doesn't work anymore. any non-death note related death nullifies that rule because one is pretty much dead afterwards. the latter is pretty much what i have said eariler
Maybe, if you're Light.
I'm not
@darkhunter89: I didn't think so.

and that means?
If somehow the 23 day rule can't be fulfilled. Then the person dies of a heart attack. Same for any death consequence that can't be fulfilled.

so you cant trick it
@darkhunter89: Nope.
@darkhunter89: means you can't trick it whether you're the writer of the book or the one being written on. the rules are set enough within that time period

but if someone write: john ____ dies 23 days after l lawliet catched him, and he could kill l before that date, would he die then?
sorry for my bad english
@darkhunter89: the death note writer needs to write his target's way of death or the death note would kill the target of a heart attack a few seconds afterward. putting a time stamp longer than what death note follows is not allowed; the death note won't follow that instruction.

oh thanks very much! so he must write: john _____ dies 23 days after l lawliet shoot him. right?
@darkhunter89: john will die a few seconds afterwards because the death note will not follow the conditions to his death.

but didn't l wrote in l change the world, something like: L lawliet shall die 23 days after light yagami dies. i know it isn't canon but could it go this way?
@darkhunter89: the conditions are beyond the notes' rules. canon death note rules say that once the correct name is written to it, that person will die.

i know that but john wrote that he will die 23 days after l lawliet shoot him, but now l lawliet died before that time. so will he still die 23 days later?
@darkhunter89: it will ignore your condition because your condition basically makes the death note go beyond the 23 day rule. if you don't shoot john at once after writing the condition, john will die a day after you write your condition. if you die on the day you wrote that condition, john would still die of a heart attack after your death.

i get it. you can trick the 23 day rule be writing down a specific disease that takes long to develop.
@darkhunter89: if you call giving yourself a disease a trick to escape a death note, you got another thing coming. a lifetime of torment from an incurable disease is not something you'd really like.

well i agree with you
but.....
just for fun
what would happen if you write herman ____ gets crashed by an ufo, i mean its not impossible
@darkhunter89: UFOs are piloted by living beings. the death note won't include innocent lives in such way to die. also if the cause and situation are impossible to occur, the death note will just kill the target with a heart attack

well light could also kill via accidents. i wonder what would happen if you wrote dies of heart disease. the victim would live over 23 days
@darkhunter89: as long as the accident doesn't include anyone else from dying.the heart disease will kill you within 23 days.

well you can give yourself a heart disease. it's a disease so that means you will of heart failure at some point. and you will live longer than 23 days.
@darkhunter89: do i need to repeat what i said earlier ? a disease that makes your life harder is not a reprieve on the 23 day limit on the death note. you going to die later is not in any way makes it bearable to endure such disease

is a heart disease that pain full? i don't know, but i heard you can have a ''normal'' life if you don't absorb too much stress.
@darkhunter89: the basic heart disease cuts your activities through half and it gets worse overtime. you are also prone to diseases that are linked to it. the worst part ? endless medications that you would just like to puke out most of the time. the pain part on the chest occurs on activity, starting from strenuous ones till the worst one where you feel pain on merely lifting a spoon.
