@dayvid3: Thor's true age is impossible to determine with historical accuracy. One of the historic complications is that the Germanic peoples (as well as the Celts) had no written language, so the first written account of the Viking mythos was from the ancient Romans. Even the Icelandic sagas were written by converted monks when they learned Latin. However, the Vikings are thought to be around 1300 yrs old, flourishing between the 8th and 11th centuries. But just because Thor may not have yet been worshiped by those people, or known by the name Thor, it does not mean that such a being was not yet extant. By some accounts, Odin helped create the world (by others, it was his father or grandfather). As point of reference, presumed genetic mutation which resulted in changes in the homo sapien brain that made language possible occurred approx. 50,000 yrs. ago, anatomical markers for humans appeared at least 200,000 yrs. ago, and proto-humans diverged from the chimpanzee branch of the evolutionary tree perhaps 5 million yrs. ago. Considering Thor and his race of Asgardian gods look and sound pretty human, and assuming the developed (evolved, were created, what have you) reasonably concurrently with the human race, we can presume Odin to be around 100,000 yrs. old (give or take and splitting the difference) and Thor to be no more than half Odin's age, would place him around 50,000 yrs. of age; right about the cusp of humans evolving to the point of developing language. At least, that's one theory. Somehow, though, Thor doesn't seem quite that mature. It may also depend on how many cycles of Ragnarok occurred through the ages by They Who Sit (sat) Above In Shadow.
